Do you guys just keep paying tint tickets?

Recommended Posts

I notice a lot of people on the forum have dark tint on their cars/trucks.

Here in VA I use to have tint on previous cars but always got pulled so I removed it.

Do you guys just say fuck it and pay the ticket and keep it moving?

Just curious as I would think $150 or so would get expensive quick.

In Florida they don't mess with you too bad about it. And I got my front windows slightly lighter than the rear to make it appear more legal. I need to look into that light sensitivity prescription though, I actually think that's become an issue with me as of late. I can hardly stand riding in friends' cars that don't have tint.

i roll with 20% around right by cops no issue. I think when you do 5% or double 5% around and get into tinting windshields is when it becomes a problem. but even some ciites are really picky.

its mainly for officer safety, if they can see your outline i think they are more likely to let you go on your way. with my 20% they can see my siloette still which probably makes them feel more comfortable. if its wierd lighting such as cloudy i tend to roll with front windows half down to lighten cabin up a bit. as long as you are smart and dont seem threatening they wont take you down most of the time

then again, it varies by location

the tint in my pickup is exactly what they run in their police cruisers here. Order them with factory privacy glass in the rear, and do 5% over the rear, and up front. But then again, I drive a stock ass, slow ass, grandpa looking F150 with a toolbox. They have no other reason to pull me over.
