notorious97200 Posted April 18, 2016 Report Posted April 18, 2016 Your HDC is in a sealed box. It might not be very loud. Those subs like ported box, tuned around 36 Hz. You can set your gains by ears ! It won't be the most accurate, but it's free and easy. I have yet to blow a sub setting my gain like that for years, and on different setups. It is much more safer to use the good tools (o'scope, DD-1). black BMW X1 2.0 l 192 hp OEM head unit, Amplifiers : Audison AP 8.9 with integrated DSP and Ampere Audio 1200. Focal ES 100 K in front doors, and Dayton RS 180 for midbass under the front seats. 2 SSA DEMONS 10" subs, in a sealed box. SecondSkin Damplifier on front doors, and Luxury Liner Pro for the cargo area.
PositiveCrew Posted April 18, 2016 Author Report Posted April 18, 2016 Very good information in here. Where would you guys recommend I go to learn more? Do you guys mostly learn through open forums like this, or are there specific guide-type pages with all the info? I'm probably going to try getting into enclosure building this summer, but I need a lot more information before doing so heh. I think for now I'll grab a DD-1 and see what I can find out. Atleast it'll give me a bit more information on where to go from here.
Broke_Audio_Addict Posted April 18, 2016 Report Posted April 18, 2016 I've learned by doing and from fourms, there is a wealth of knowledge available on this and other forums and a few other good websites, all you gotta do is search for what you want to learn about. As for enclosure stuff there are a few knowledgeable members here that will help you with designs for free when you are ready. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

So it's hard to pinpoint where to go, other than asking specific questions when a new issue arises.

PositiveCrew Posted April 18, 2016 Author Report Posted April 18, 2016 It seems SMD DD-1's are out of stock everywhere. The only one I see for sale anywhere in the world is on eBay with a bid of $170 with $14 shipping currently...hmm Anyone have any idea how long it usually takes for Steve to restock? Also thanks for the bcae1 website. Bookmarked and will be viewing shortly
Broke_Audio_Addict Posted April 18, 2016 Report Posted April 18, 2016 No clue but you could try emailing him through his Webstore and I'm sure he will help you out.
