d-nice88 Posted June 24, 2016 Report Posted June 24, 2016 Im hearing this what sounds like a mechanicle noise cooming from one of my 15's and you can only really hear it on the kick drum bass notes or the higher notes like 50 60hz range. Any one know what this could be ?

Nightshade Posted June 24, 2016 Report Posted June 24, 2016 Could be coil rub, or possibly the triple joint is starting to fail. I had this happen on a sub in the past and it sounded weird at higher frequencies but did not in the lower frequency range. I pulled the subs and the triple joint was starting to rip, so I grabbed a bit of 5 min epoxy and re-glued that bastard down. It fixed it for quite some time until the portion where I had glued it to the cone started to rip. Test it first. then worry about what to do if you can't find anything if that situation arises. d-nice88 Posted June 25, 2016 Author Report Posted June 25, 2016 Omg.. L O fucking L.. i took both subs out and everything was perfect still stiff and both coils read .7 ohms. (Fi bl 15's) so i hook everything back up and play a track i hear it real good on and still hear it and im like WTF! So i readjust my self to get a better listen and my ear gets close to the cargo lamp in my truck and there it is... fucking sound ive been hearing this whole time omg such a relief / dumbass moment lol.. thanks guys for yalls help tho. Now i just gotta figure a way to stop that damn noise.
