.s1 Posted August 21, 2016 Report Posted August 21, 2016 hey guys, hopefully you can help. I have 2 4 ohm DVC 15" subs , & a mono (kicker) KX800.1 Amplifier @ 2 ohms. How do i properly wire the (2) 4 ohm dual voice coil subs down to 2 ohms for the single channel amp @ 2 ohms? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Bayuk89 Posted August 21, 2016 Report Posted August 21, 2016 Some people have just used one voice coil on each sub...... i can tell you ive done it.... it lasted about 6 months till i smoked a coil..... Please dont do this, just wire one DVC sub in parallel (++ --) for a two ohm load to run to ur amp.... better choice is to sell ur kicker amp and buy a 1 ohm stable amp in the wattage you need.

Thanks alot guys for the input. this amp is not 1 ohm stable, only 2 or 4 ohms. so they must have wired up for 4 ohms , which is half the power i need for those 2 subs from this amp. I knew something was not right. thanks for the help!
