Jessica Posted November 12, 2016 Report Share Posted November 12, 2016 based on how music sounds throughout history below 40 is low to me. i mean, normal hearing usually drops off sharply around 20hz. so 20h to 40hz is a 20hz range, you then have 18960hz of hearing range above that. weird. MrSkippyJ Posted November 12, 2016 Report Share Posted November 12, 2016 That's true but the octave to frequency relationship isn't linear, so while 19960hz to go seems like a huge range, it isn't as much as it seems. It's really only about 12 octaves and of those 12 octaves, 7 of them are below 1Khz IE. 10hz to 20hz is one octave, but so is 10000hz to 20000hz.
