Ditch the 4x6 speakers in the dash and put the tweets there.  That's what I did.  They sound good and easier a than hacking up the doors

That's a terrible idea.

 

Don't you know that the mid/tweet are to be close together as possible? Thought everyone knew this...

If that's the case then why do so many members here mount tweets in the pillars or sails and midbass in the door?   

Or are you just bein smart?  I can't tell.

Your right. I have seen a lot of both. But...I've been taught and told to keep the mid/tweeter close together as possible.  I see more installs this way. So who do I listen to?

 

I think the real question is would it make any difference at all if I were to mount the tweeter just above the already existing speaker location in the door vs. if I were to mount it in the door next to the door handle vs. in the 4x6 opening. I'm not about to cut a bunch of holes in my door panel to find out.

the kick pods are what ive been looking for for ever. i have a 99 tacoma as well and am constantly doing and redoing my system. cant seem to find where i can get a set of those on here. please advise..

What is the “fix” if the parking break does not clear the kick panel? I bought the Q-Logic panel for my make and model (2001 Ford F-250 Super Duty), but I can’t figure out how to install the driver’s side.
