Example Of Why Some Stereo Shops Suck

Recommended Posts

well i'm somewhat almost happy with the output of this system, shakes everything, people give me weird looks at the stoplight, windsheild flex, etc, also i gotta add, it was hooked up in 8 ohms, when i first took the sub out i was like WTF? i don't wanna say no names, but the shop is off the 91 freeway and van buren, in the 909, they happen to fail at installs

It's not that it's wrong because it works.

It's becomes bad when someone charges for that. Were all guilty of cutting corners at one point. But you can't charge someone for it.

not many cars can get me to pluggin my ears but this one.......damn. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it. :)

yeah, the previous owner got ripped off, what shop wires in 8 ohms, and does have a box, espeically in so cal!!!

could it be because the amp isnt stable at 2ohms bridged or the sub cant handle the power the amp puts out at that load

Gotta do what you gotta do sometimes. When you get a customer that comes in on a limited budget and doesn't want to spend any more money... sometimes shit like that happens. I'd imagine it's actually sealed decently, great stuff is crazy. Still not how I would have done it, but i've seen MUCH MUCH worse.

And looks like 16gauge wire... i wire up cheap entry level subs all day with the stuff.

thats what I use for my tweeters.

But I totally hear where your coming from with customers on a tight budget. There is some things that you should just tell them "no" too.
