welp i just woke up and went to lift it off the counter.....

it held

so it took it over to my couch and started yanking on it as in holding the whole sub by the baffle and pulling and it stayed . so later i'll do a 3rd coat of jb and probably call it done

If he were to have someone weld it most likely they would lay leather pieces down. So there would be no hole burn in the surround. Just thought I'd put my $0.02 in.

Thats what I was thinking.

But it seems that the jb weld is working good, hope it works out for ya man. Thats sick as fuck you got that for free.

Nice! Sounds like that JB Weld is pretty epic stuff, never used it myself...

If I would hazard a guess at how it happened I would say the basket was already cracked/weakened from dropping the sub and then somebody dropped the sub box with the sub mounted in it and all that weight being dropped finished it off. Either that or the box bounced a lot in the car and slowly killed it over time.

you could be really mean and sell it to someone and say the basket is "super re-inforced" that would be evil.
