AI James Posted July 11, 2008 Author Report Posted July 11, 2008 welp i just woke up and went to lift it off the counter..... it held so it took it over to my couch and started yanking on it as in holding the whole sub by the baffle and pulling and it stayed . so later i'll do a 3rd coat of jb and probably call it done

ChevyBoy Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 Could you have someone weld it? Grind down the basket and have it welded? Good luck with the jb weld, its good stuff i'm just not sure it can handle that much pressure.i think its that pot metal shit and you cant weld that.

Boon Posted July 12, 2008 Report Posted July 12, 2008 Nice! Sounds like that JB Weld is pretty epic stuff, never used it myself... If I would hazard a guess at how it happened I would say the basket was already cracked/weakened from dropping the sub and then somebody dropped the sub box with the sub mounted in it and all that weight being dropped finished it off. Either that or the box bounced a lot in the car and slowly killed it over time. 10.x volts fo' life!
