"i had it ran at 2 ohms on a s18x in my durango with a box built by a shop and hit a 140 lol"

Somthing is seriously wrong if you hit 140 with a s18x.  I hit 139.6 with my car off, with a 200 watt memphis PR 15" and an $80 JENSEN amp putting out 250 watts i think!  (yes, it was the new meter at a dB drag event last summer)

1st place circuit city car/spl show (maplewood,MN) 2006

146.6 dB's with 2 12" L7 and 1606d brutus

Don't see what the problem is with hitting a 140.0 but I high lighted what the problem could have been.

i was thinkin of running  2 power acoustik a3000db's for my btl 18's,i recently found i can get a bx2005d for the same price,so i have to decide on the hifonics or power acoustik,i hooked up a bx1605d and it was no where near as loud,i no theres a big wattage drop, but it wasn't as loud or clearer or anything,so im not sure, opinions needed

I used to run 2 power acoustik A3000's on (1) MT 18.  If you use only 2 A3000's for 2 BTL 18's you probably won't be very happy because even if a lightening bolt hit an A3000 you're only going to get a max of 2000 watts.  I would highly recommend 2 A3000's per 18.  Just my $.02.

actually you will see more than 2k. dont start this crap again.
x2...The a3000db does what it claims to do...If it doesn't it's probably because you don't got the electrical to back it up.

Sorry fellas, but I do have the electrical to back up supporting numerous A3000s and they do not come close to putting out 2300 watts @ 1 ohm.  Unfortunately I do not have pictures of my clamp ammeter, but you can say what you want this is after all an internet FORUM.  Also, I was not saying that this amp is no good, I was just saying that you'll need more than just 2 for a pair of BTL's.  As a side note, I would highly recommend that you ask Power Acoustik technical support what the max current consumption is at 1 ohm.  I was told a max of 180 amps would be consumed by this amplifier by Reynaldo Chavez of Power Acoustik so if you take that number and base it on 100% efficiency (not gonna happen) you would never touch more than 1800 watts.  While I really like this forum you may need to spend some time over at the termpro forum and learn a little bit more about measuring true output on an amplifier.  Do any of you have proof of your 2000+ watts???  I would be more than willing to eat my words if you had some proof.  I actually enjoy being proved wrong so please go ahead and make me look stupid.

wonder if power acoustik amps come with birthsheets? i'm assuming not since people are just going off of what the amp advertises.

no they dont come with birthsheets. but he also DOESNT have proof that they dont put out over 2000. but lets see the wattage now. 180x14.4=2592. that looks to me that its over 2300. hmmmm go figure.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that assuming 100% efficiency?  Like I said before, I have no problem being wrong, but you have no proof as well.  Not looking to get into a e-pissing match, I just want factual information like everyone else.  From everything I've ever been told about class D amps, typical efficiency is going to be from 70-80%.  If at the highest efficiency point of 80% you're looking at 2073 watts according to your calculation above and on the low side of 70% you're looking at 1814 watts.  Just as a reference I have included a link to some good technical information http://www.bcae1.com/pwrsupdc.htm.  I really want to reiterate that I am not trying to promote a big stink about this, I really love using the Power Acoustik A3000Db amplifier it's truly one of those "big bang for the buck" amplifiers.  I wish I had pictures of the actual output I measured, but I don't.  If you have proof of your accomplishments then please enlighten us all, I don't mind being wrong about things.
