meade916 Posted January 24, 2007 Report Share Posted January 24, 2007 Its been about 8 months since i made these sheets and i was going to use them for a local "metering" party we never had. It was like 118 out and not that many people could make it so i cancelled. Now i want to bring it back and not only get you guys metered on a REAL TL meter, but have a small contest with it. Classes to be anounced if i end up doing it but im just testin the waters right now. Pure SPL is fine if thats what you like but 98% of the people ive ever seen dont care for it but they do wanna know how hard your $hit hits with music. With this sheet , 3 things are measured so that even an SPL car could compete but he might only excel in one catagory and a street bumper might not do as high of a peak score but having a balanced system would make his score be better. Anyway: each frequency tested with about 5 or 10 seconds in between each burp. Just enough for your reading and to hit the button over for the next frequency. then, (or first your choice) you burp your highest frequency to get your peak score last, you play music for 30 seconds or so and your average or peak reading is noted. (havent decided if im doing peak or average) All three of these numbers are added together and divided by 3 for your final number. To me its more about the groundpounder that can hit all the notes. Also at the end, for your money, on top of a trophy or some other award, you get a graph of your low-end system response to take home! Ok so bottom line........if i gave a few months notice, how many people here would show up and even talk some others into going. If i get a warm response on it i will figure out classes and get some nice awards setup and then do this. Probably be a small fee to help pay for it all, trophys arent cheap, but i wont go to crazy. Maybe $10 per entry. Hell, you cant even go to a shop and get metered for 10 bucks unless you know the guy at the shop and hes not busy at the time. Lemme know what you guys think.
