Sundown Audio

Recommended Posts

Here is one of my most recent experiences with Jacob and Sundown Audio. I had an issue with one of my Nightshades last week on Thursday. I called Jacob on Friday morning and told him that I was in need of a recone. He said okay we'll build it today and you can come here tomorrow and pick it up. I thought for a second and was like tomorrow is Saturday are you sure. He said it was no problem and to come cause Brandon and he would be there. Got there and got the new sub in the car. It sounded as I expected it to and was very happy with it. I hung out with the two of them for a couple of hours on their day off none the less. That was the first above and beyond thing that he did for me.

Next I was on the ride home and had an issue with the sub volume dropping. I looked at them while they were playing and saw that the old sub that hadn't been reconed was not moving as much as the newly reconed one. I got home and pulled it out of the box and examined it. I saw that the + lead on one of the coils came unsoldered and thought that would be easy to fix. I checked the other coil to be sure and saw that since the other lead came unsoldered it left the opposite coil hooked up by itself and burnt the - lead on the other side. I never had a problem with the subs seeing that much power before and determined that the lead burnt because the one came off the other terminal. Well, I decided to email Jacob and tell him about it. He answered my email right away and told me to come by anytime next week(this week) and he would fix it up. I called Monday and made plans to come and pick it up on Tuesday. I got to his shop again and there was a brand new freshly reconed sub waiting for me again!!! Except this time the sub was covered by waranty since the lead came unsoldered causing the other lead to burn.

Now I had an issue with another well know manufacturer about a tinsel lead breaking and they wouldn't cover it under waranty and deemed it abuse. Jacob on the other hand reached into his vast supply of recones and did it for me like the other manufacturer should have. To me this is how people are supposed to treat their customers. Sundown comes through again, and keeps my business for life. Not that I wouldn't have continued to run Sundown, but after the other sub went down on my way home I was ready to sell everything off and say fuck it.

Oh yeah Jacob also gave me this NEW product that no one else has, and I know you guys are jealous of me.

Quality manufacturer support and service is one of those things that you don't realize how important it is until you need it and it isn't there. Out of the nine Sundown Audio amplifiers I've owned & abused in competition use I've only managed to burn up one (totally my fault) and with Sundown's discount replacement warranty it wasn't any problem exchanging it for a new one at a discounted cost. That's something you don't see other manufacturers doing. Their warranty and customer service is truly unbeatable.

that is pretty impressive. I had a problem with a tinsel lead on a certain pornographic sub and it cost me shipping and the price of a recone. It was a tinsel lead then too.
