You make the choice.................I can't decide

I just bought an '06 15" XXX, which will be here next week.  It's going into my daily driver, which is a trunk car.  It is my daily driver, but I'm going to run a few NSPL Trunk events this year, so I need it to meter decent for what it is on around 3600 watts.  The seats have to be up in that class, no folding them down at all.

My choices are to build a box firing backwards, port back, and rely on the modifications I did on the seats and rear deck to pass the bass through and meter well, or wall the woofer off firing forward through the seats, which have been almost gutted, only about 1/4" of foam remains in them.

Which would you do if it was you?  And what has worked before?

Copy the setup STEVE did in the civic the first time.

Subs forward into seats (like you said, they're already gutted) and DELETE the rear deck as much as possible and make it a giant pass thru. It will be "as though" your subs are in the back seat or in a hatch car (assuming you seal it like you said and how Steve did)

If anything, the seats will act as a loading wall and the rear window will direct it all forward.

That is how I would run it.

nothing funner than taking a sawzaw to your vehicle... ;D.

I have to do that anyways' date=' the opening to the trunk is only 15" tall, so I have to do some trimming.  No big deal, it's not like I haven't cut up cars for audio before.
