Last time I checked, salt does not evaporate into a gas. Try living in the upper midwest. I cringe everytime I hear the road salt blasting my fenders everyday during the four full months of winter snow. Then, when the snow starts to melt, our whole cars get covered with a nice thick rough layer of salt that eats its way through the top coats of paint. There's a reason some of us drive down south to get cars, because cars can hardly make it 5 years without rusting here. LMAO. I don't know how bad Missouri winters are but California is a hell of a lot easier on cars then up here. If your car rusts in Cali, then you should've washed and waxed your car atleast once in its life. I do mine every other week out of necessity and it still wants to rust.
