in a way, yes. i often times get speakers and either use them or just take them out of the box and put them on a shelf with rest of my speakers. i have speakers from Ipod things, from radios, from games, roadmaster, other unused speakers i had laying around. i have about 40 something in my room. like half work. lol. but i use most of them for a short time. however, YGPM

okay, i'm gonna get in trouble for this by someone. lol. but i went to salvation army again and once again, more speakers! my gf was with me this time and she TRIED to pull me away but couldn't. anywho, i picked up 2 things and paid $4.50. so it was nothing.

2 aiwa speakers to go with my other 3. ohh and i got a small CD player with it. not using it though

a panasonic tower. a tweeter which doesn't work and like a 4"

and this......this is my frankenstereo. :D the 2 sliver aiwa speakers on bottom, 1 aiwa over the dvd/vhs, 1 magnavox speaker on each side, there is 2 small 4" panasonic speakers behind the tv, one panasonic laying over them, 2 aiwa speakers on top with 2 tweeters in the middle. the little music player to the right is what is powering them all. very safe, eah?

just playin man, actually, it all started with that exact same thing for me.......i had garage sale bought, whatever i could find, stereo stuff all over my room before i got my first car. Ill never forget the time i ran like 10 different types of wire, whatever i could find, all twisted together from my room, ALL THE WAY down the hall and into the living room (to extend my speaker from the stereo)......i twisted it and probably scotch taped the wires so they wouldnt touch and i couldnt believe it, IT WORKED!! i had sound in the living room all the way from my bedroom!! I was addicted from that point on. Dont get me started on the time where i hooked up every single speaker i could find to one channel of my dads oldschool Marantz (sp) stereo. Shit was SLAPPIN!! Kept goin into protect. I had no idea what ohms were and i wouldnt doubt if i had that bitch at 1/8 ohm hahah - 25 years later, i KNOW why it was goin into protect now!!! Shit was bumpin though before that pesky light would come on and kick my tunes off!

lol, i did this shit all the time, goin to pawn shops, thrift store, fleemarket, n what knot, i had about 20 or so sets of speakers at one time n my cuzin had a box he built for 2 rf 12's n put all of em in it n it sounded pritty good

and those sealed back speakers do not need a xover to work n stay working, if they dont work check it without a xover cap thing, i had to rewire a set of old ass pioneer 10'' 3ways that had insolation inside of em lol, n the caps were bad so i str8 wired em in and they worked perfectly

why i say they dont need a xover cap is due to the fact that it has no way of venting backwave so its all sealed n will not blow

i got my set of 8'' klh 3ways wired like this cause the cap wouldn't let the mid play loud enough so i unhooked it n rewired it n sounds alot better\

my house stereo now consists of these on a 5channel stereo spitter

haha back in high school me and my buddy rode our skateboards all around before school started and we came across 2 tower speakers, 2 12s in each box. the boxes were pretty solid and the 12s i found out later was really 1 in each with a PR too. the surounds were bad tore foam but we mashed it up with rubber cement and i got one and he got one. cant remember the brand but the motors on them were sqaure lol, round speaker lol. they beat for just finding them at the end of somebodys driveway waiting for the garbage man lol. hell yeah im sure alot of us has been there...i might still be somewhat just for a slower day of fun
