Basic starting class in electrical code for ANYTHING not just a car audio setup tells you to fuse things. Even a car has fuses for an *unknown* reason. Seems like good installers overall to me. They just need to take 123487234973478923482392349242394723473249 million classes on mobile electrical code then they'd be set. Aside from that! Once all of that shit is ripped straight the f**k up out of there... It'll be set! I wonder if they even adjusted the maxxlink right... It's not for the average joe that doesn't know anything. meade916 Posted September 11, 2009 Report Posted September 11, 2009 im still blown away that someone would hook up a multi alternator setup and split one of them to the car and the other to the system - when neither one is 16v (ie they are both 12v so it makes ZERO sense to not let everything share the alts). Thats not nearly as bad as taking the same setup and hooking up a single MLA module to what amounts to two seperate charging systems and battery banks. Thats like the dumbest thing i think i ever heard about in at least the last year. I mean if your not familiar with how an MLA works its easy, just ask. Its plug and play with the exception of a small positive and negative wire, but if your not comfortable with multi alt setups then you shouldnt be hooking them up (in customers cars anyway) - burn your own down for all anyone cares but not a customer!! I'll take my time and spend 6 months learning something before I put it in the hands of someone that doesn't know what they are doing. I worked on a buick *flea market* installation the other day... I think I almost cried after seeing some of the things they did and how his battery terminal was lose for monnnnnnnths and he couldn't figure out why the lights would dim and the car would stall at redlights from time to time. Not a single fuse found throughout the entire setup... An he had 3 amps. Funny thing is... only reason he brought it in, was because one of the amplifiers were blown. The gains were maxed out on all of amplifiers and weren't properly set. An it took a speaker with it... They LUBED HIM UP REAL GOOD. Most people don't like it when you show them things like that and explain to them that you have to charge them more to fix something that someone else f**cked up either. It's endless... He's in good hands now, karma will catch up with them sooner or later. Hopefully in the form of a lawsuit, I just hope no car has to burn to the ground first or anyone dies to make them understand. It's all good. The one and only time I had help putting my truck together and it almost burnt to the ground. Always check your work (or someone else in my case) That exhaust burn happens fast Designing, building, and shipping boxes. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it.
