groundpounder2k2
Yes if it is installed properly you won't have any probs i have 10 amps and all my audio control equipment running off of 1 30 amp relay. Man its really hard for me to believe that in all of your installs you have never wired up a relay. How did you run multi amp setups b4 ???? I know right....................lol....Ive always just run straight off the head unit with the remotes.... basshead
I know right....................lol....Ive always just run straight off the head unit with the remotes.... i never installed a system with more than 3 amps b4 2001 and even when i did i just put a 40 amp fuse in the radio fuse slot and ran my amp remotes off of the red ignition wire to the h/u and i used my remote wire on the h/u for my EQ's and crossovers and i never had a prob but when i started doin it BIG thats i learned that you really need a relay when running multi amp setups
Texas Tech
so say you have 4 amps, you would have 4 REM wires connected to 30, each going to an individual amps REM terminal? What fuse do you put inbetween 30 and the amps REM terminal Edited April 29, 2007 by Texas Tech Quote Baylor University Accounting
BlockShaker
Since others have answered your questions on relays maybe I can give you some ideas on distributing the wires to the amps or whatever your power needs are for low current components. Here is what I did for the center console and my accessories rack underneath my rear seat. All the yellow wires: Anything with 12v + Contstant All the black wires : - Ground All the red wires : 12v + Acc. All the blue wires : From a relay which is the remote turn on from the radio Edited April 29, 2007 by BlockShaker Quote BlockShaker's Competition Page and Build-Up Pics MY SET UP: Eclipse CD5435 CD/MP3 Player Alpine DVE-5207 DVD Player Alpine PKG-1000 10.2" Monitor Alpine TUE-T151 TV Tuner Boyo Back Up Camera Alpine ERA-G320 EQ Apple Mini Ipod Scosche RF Wireless Remote for Ipod Stinger Volt Meter Audiocontrol MVC Precision Power PCX-2400 Precision Power PCX-4125 MB Quart Premium PCE-215 (2 Sets) MB Quart Premium 6 1/2" Mid-Bass JL Audio 15W0-8 ( Stinger Battery Power2 SP1000 (2) Stinger Fuse Blocks, Holders and Distribution Alumapro 15 Farad Cap Stinger 200Amp Relay 100 Blue LEDs (Headliner and Amp Rack) Stinger Hyper RCAs Stinger Wiring- 1/0 GA, 4 GA, 8 GA, 10 GA, 12 GA and 14 GA 5 Blue LED Toggle Switches

It is just a precaution if something was to happen to one of the remote leads after the relay (grounded out...) so it does not ruin the lead coming from your source unit going to the relay. Texas Tech
Well, i have never done anything like this so i am still kind of lost. But from what i am trying to understand, you are kind of just using a "bar" to distribute the 12 V source. Do you have to use a ground for each REM wire you use, or just one ground. I figured since everything metal is touching, just one ground would be fine. Quote Baylor University Accounting
ChevyBoy
http://seachoice.com/productdetail/ProdDetail.asp?pid=32477 why not use something like that instead of all the little wires?
