Baydestrian
I see this in a lot of songs and this would be clipping on the note right? Its just a simple bass hit, this happens to be from the song "Same Corner" by Sun.N.Y. Baydestrian
That's what I thought...damn it always happens on songs with those kinds of bass hits, heavy pounds that aren't drawn out if you know what I mean. treossi
i don't think clipped songs are really THAT BAD... i don't think it's as bad as having a clipped amp... and im pretty sure it's not the same thing... i could be wrong.... but seriously do you think everyone always checks every song for clipping first? and that first flat wave is super clipped to answer you're question Quote Team sundownWESTCOASTSPL.COM we're throwing dbdrag events very soon visit the website for details
all_your_bass1
I think damage is only done if you're playing the clipped song at very high volume. mr.p
clipped signal is clipped signal, the difference is when you clip on the amp it peaks out more power than when at moderate volume with clipped listening material. its all bad, but kick drums are generally clipped from what ive seen. Torres
i may be thinking of someone else (not decaf), but havent you slowed and altered music then uploaded for others? ...and you're just now asking what a clipped signal looks like? IH8PunkRok
looking at how far that is zoomed in you really do not have to worry about it. you are looking at maybe .05 seconds of dc yes it will heat the coil up but the amount of heat added by that .05 sec will be dissipated just as quick and you will never notice it. small clips like that arent awful they arent good by any means but they will not kill a woofer if you have a long time of clipping then yes itll toast your sub but small areas will not hurt it enough to worry Quote -Matt2005 Dodge Magnum RTJVC KD-AVX1 2 PPI S580.2 Obsidian Audio ST1 Horn Tweeters PRV 8MB450s Audio Legion 3500.1D 2 RE MT 18s 360 ah LiFePO4 BatterySHCA 2/0 155.2 @ 29 hzKicker CVR 15's buildDD 3512e buildMini T-Line Build(6) 8s BuildNightshade 15s Wall BuildMagnum AB XFL 12s BuildNewest Magnum Build
andym85
there is a diff between clipped and a square wave and that shit is a square wave...bad news... a 'soft clip' shouldnt really hurt anything...square waves are bad news though..
