USDA??a mixtape is basicly a "mix" of songs,usually put together by a dj(drama,smallz,etc), rappers and singers use them to get song recognition and to build hype for an uncoming album. Jeezy is famous for using mixtapes as well as Lil wayne. Do you remember Trap or Die? Jeezy used this album to gain alotof popularity before releasing his album Thug Motivation. One of the best mixtapes i have ever heard. They arent meant for mainstream and thus are considered underground music, but i believe this is being released all over the place, which isnt uncommon.
