Team_DC-Derrick
MLA has 2 set points if i remember, a lower number and a higher number, where as XS can be fully adjustable on the fly... so it really depends on what you want The DC Integra 3 18s to 6 15 build log Team_DC-Derrick's Youtube Team DC Audio where theres a will theres a wall....... Dr. Johnson
I say XS Power is better it stays where you set it!
Decaf
for the average joe the MLA is fine and convienant since u dont have to run wires to a dash display for a more advanced user the VCM is nice... but u dont need noobs turning it up to 16.5 and then ask why their batts a bulging... so it moreso depends on the knowledge of the user personally since they cost pretty much the same
AI James
imo depends on the car you own. If a chevy id say the xs power if anything else you dont really have a choice at this point
meade916
I say XS Power is better it stays where you set it! How do you know? Did you get a VCM yet? Anyway, my MLA stayed where THEY set it (factory settings), so im not sure what you mean. If you are talking about the voltage going down after the alt warms up (especially on a HOT day) and your batteries are nice and full then that is normal. The VCM does the same. for the average joe the MLA is fine and convienant since u dont have to run wires to a dash displayfor a more advanced user the VCM is nice... but u dont need noobs turning it up to 16.5 and then ask why their batts a bulging... so it moreso depends on the knowledge of the user personally since they cost pretty much the same true - it is NOOB proof though as long as they leave the default dip switches where they are. On the back it has a dip switch to go past a 15.2v ceiling. Anyway, they are both great products - i will give it to the VCM though based on adjustability. Even if i "set it and forget it" now, at least i know if i use 16v batts in the future, i can just use this. I will also give it to VCM because of the voltage meter. My pile of SHIT stinger meters kept malfunctioning and i probably went thru 5 of them between my ride and Chickens hoopty..So its nice to have that back and ACCURATE. The MLA is still a sweet device. Rock solid and never gave me any problems. I am a nerd when it comes to electronic gadgets so i had to try the new XS power VCM and so far it is also rock solid (and pretty too ) All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel!
