i was amazed at this build...i loved every bit of it. and yet its still not even done..yes wires are shown and what not but its still not done. John just because you talked to the owner about these subs doesnt mean you know everything about them...i talk to Rusty quite a bit but doesnt mean i know every aspect of DC subwoofers...far from..and you claiming you do know all about these subs is a very vein statement. just for closure yea you said all that but you still didnt fully say what you had to about Ed and Trippi themselves...which i still doubt you will. and with the sub blowing...ever heard of product failure...it happens..and those amps go into red without any volume...i dont know why but id have my volume halfway up and bass knob all the way down and they went into the red and the subs were barely even moving...but im going to stop now and respect Trippis and Eds build by not trying to stir any shit. keep up the good work guys...awesome 155.5 at the show Trippi and hope to see you at more...i had a blast and it looked like you did to.

ok since you all think ill back out and not say what i feel about it fine. first off i never said im an amazing builder at all. Im just saying this build could and should of been diff. first off i did not know that ed told you should of only done 4 subs in that manner he is correct, because I personally know whats good for those subs because i talked to the man who designs and makes them.

First the box the tunning is wrong to be able to actually play music well. the port is not long enough and doubt big off. not thing about the box you dont screw plexi together you bond it and you dont use silicone on it because when it drys you can see it. then it looks like ed tried to cover it up with the red tint plexi im sorry but with all the money and time in this build you should be able to do better ed i've seen much better work from you.

Next why dont you explain why one of the SMD's blew and shot sparks out from the motor and the box was filled with smoke? i was told that by trippi himself if you all dont believe me! Lets look at those amps that you set ed.. hmm i believe looking at them on low volume with a song without a strong bass note every sub amp was clipping... seriously? you cant even use a O scope to set the amps? this caused the sub's coils to what im guessing in spider and hit the motor causing a short. Also i smelled the coils on very little power.... hmm not good. and cover up the batteries and wire.

For that amp rack in needs more strength to hold all that damn weight.

I will say the highs sounded amzing and were very clear as i expected because there are so many and trippi i was beginning to tell you this stuff and you seemed very interested but i believe you got side tracked or what not and im sorry for not saying this to you personally yesterday.

You talked to the owner of aa? Do you mean Scott? Ooh. Did he tell you how the woofer could have been designed better?, did he tell you how they heat up easily? Especially with 6000w per coil?

And I certainly did use an oscope for adjustments. And set it all for max unclipped levels. But there happens to be a bass knob that trippi can set on the fly depending on what he is doing.

How bout that box design, do you know the specs and measurements? Did you know that its exactly to what aa recommends? Oh the port isn't long enough or big enough? Well it is tuned with an f3 of 29hz. Do you know what f3 means? More port area huh? Try it with 15" deep subs.

How bout the plex? Yes it should be bolted. 2 way force application of over 500 lbs couldn't be left to chance with just a chemical bond. And the bond is a plex epoxy thank you. Sorry if I used silicone in the corners to be sure it stays sealed, didn't know it was wrong to be double sure that something works properly.

Ahh the amps, yes mounting them up there was always a concern, but did you see me hanging from the ceiling? Do the amps even really move that much.

Stuff in the car may break, a hatch hinge already did. Maybe windshield makers in boilermakers trailblazer don't know how to make glass.

Hummers don't meter well but I can make it louder on the meter too, bit that's not as fun or enjoyable to listen to.

From what Chode said, I'm awesoming that this John character was talking shit on a personally level and my answer to that is Trippi should just take the hate in as just another avenue for exposure. i personally love the install and i love where those amps are mounted. It looks safe to me so i dont know what the fuss is about. The box looks and works great! Who is this guy to tell you that theres something wrong with the box?

Anyway, Trippi, Ed, just take the shit talkers for what it is, exposure. Its what i deal with every hour of every single day. Some gonna' love it, some gonna hate it, some gonna critisize even though they dont even have a car or never built a basic box.

Ive done builds almost to this scale (as you know) and i dont see any reason for me to nit pick on this ride so why would someone who has never been there before even think about it? Just kick back and enjoy it for what it is and learn from the pics you see.....if you see something you would do different, then do it DIFFERENT when building your own monster system. And if its so bad in your eyes that you cant resist saying something, why be a punk about it, why not be courteous and respectful about it? Why not say something to the mans face while your there instead of running home and getting up on the net?

Trippi man I saw the hummer for the first time sunday and all I can say is wow. Its a beast and I think the craftsmanship is amazing. If your happy thats all that matters. Ed did great work on the build so mad props to him. Cant wait to see it again at the next show!!

also, to those that dont think the numbers are good enough, how many Hummers are running around with a 156 on the new TL mic? If those subs were shoved to the B Pillar and walled of like a REAL SPL DBDRAG NUMBER CHASING VEHICLE with a big fat driver side port and wooden floors, 2" Plexi windows with doors clamped shut, im sure the numbers would go up.....but this is a GROUNDPOUNDING EARTHSHAKER, not a one note wonder. When i go to a car show with the Hoe, nobody gives a shit about that car that did a 165 and you couldnt hear it on the outside.....but its a NON STOP AMUSEMENT PARK RIDE over by my car, all day from the minute i roll in till i leave.....

just know the difference people, thats all
