are square subs overrated?

I always thought it was funny how Kicker had square woofers for so many years. Then Hifonics jumped on the square bandwagon, followed by companies like PYLE. Now who has sqaure subs? MTX, They even make the "real" jackhammer in a square sub.

Personally if I was ever to run a square sub, it only be Kickers Solo-X. Everything else imo is inferior

When you have 24 woofers with 15,000watts+ its not hard to get loud.... Lol

I love my square L7's. They sound good and get loud. My opinion.

Had 2 of the L7 15's in a 12 cube box as well did a 146.8 and 147.4 with 1400 watts rms if that and stock electrical.They was hitting way harder then the mtx 9500 15's i have now but that is most likely the different boxes.

If you go with sqaure subs you will need a square port so the square sound waves can get out, If you go with a round sub you need a round port.

Its all in the owners opinion.. I had 2 L7 8's and was geting low 140's but the SQ wassnt that good. Never delt much with anything larger other that a friend was running 2 18" solo x's in his van and it done great numbers low 170's but he went to DD 9515's and went up 3 dbs.. So its all in what your after SPL or SQ .. "My Opinion Only"
