a basic box for two fi ssd 12s

3.35 cubes after displacement

tuned to 33ish hz

the box wasnt 100 percent finished..just incase the fis dont fit in the beauty plate. it still has to be glued down.. and once finalized the screws will be covered and it will be fully painted.

but the kid didnt have the woofers yet.. so i went off the web sites dimensions and cut the beauty plate for it..

once he gets the woofers. in about two weeks.. the box will have all screws filled in and the whole thing painted black.

I have a question,

Why does everyone seem to paint the box?

From what i have experienced carpet looks pretty good and is much better at combatting damage.

Is paint really much cheaper?

The carpet is get is like 19^3 for like $9, so i don't understand.

i resolve to be a nicer moderator.

Paint is easier.

Ummm no I think you need to look at my boxes.... Paint is way harder and way more expensive but worht it. Carpeting a box take me like 10min, painting it takes me 4-12hours.

actually unless you prep the box. painting is a bitch.. well on the sawed edges..

anyways he is gonna carpet it.. i was painting the ports and figured to make it look nicer paint the face..

i spread wood glue over the face of the beauty plate baffle and on the sawed edges to seal it up.. then spray painted it.. the paint didnt soak in :drinks:
