Ive got a Dodge viper regular cab at the shop im working with that has 2 powerbass 8s in it now so im gonna take them with me and drop em in and see how they sound.

kirill007 Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 since your only giving them "RMS" i wouldn't give them that little space i talked to Nick(yes from Fi) about the optimal space for these subs and he said at RMS or a little over you'll be fine in 6 cubes(yes after displacement). As you said they were barely moving which means you dont need to make the box smaller. you make it smaller to help control power handeling which is obviously not a problem for the subs lol any other questions i'd pm him on here.. NDMstang(some numbers i cant remember right now) is his name on here he commented in here atleast once Maybe Nick is talking about 3500 clamped amps... Because a smaller box has less rise then a bigger box. Smaller boxes means u have less rise and more power availible, and that's why the TC sounds LMS ULTRA needs smaller enclosure's to perform better. Sorry, but i forgot how big the box is and to what it's tuned to with how much port area. If u have 3500 clamped RMS the SMD will be louder in the bigger box. But i suspect it has big rise in the bigger side of the enclosure. (can u measure the rise CJ?) Thinking is the root of all problems... You ALWAYS get what you pay for.
