VIP3R Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 I mean honestly, if you got into a car accident, i am sure it wouldn't be pretty.. are walls really that safe? or most walls just for show vehicles? 2 Sundown Audio SA-10s Box built by Speed of Sound Kicker 1500.1 Infinity Ref 475a Rockford Fosgate T1682c 6x8s Pioneer Premier DEH-510UB XS Power D6500 Stock 130amp Alt Big 3 Build Log
TeamHT Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 What were you of afraid of happening...the walls breaking and 16cu ft of air fall on top of you? On a serious note, ive been in some serious wrecks with no hazards. Of course not cheap to fix but no issues beyond the wallet. Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
zachfowler222 Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 walls imo i think would be safe if someone build them right..... just like in police vans or some work vans that have cage walls behind the seats its pretty much the same concept but it has speakers in it and its prolly more secure..... if it wasnt i dont think it would be legal to operate a car with it inside of there...... plenty of people get pulled over with walls and no cops ever say anything about it just my 2 cents I SCAM PEOPLE OUT OF MONEY... AVOID ME LIKE I AM AN AIDS INFECTED RETARD...
dwright27 Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 If it's built to not move, like bolted down. Strapped down etc. Then yes they are much much safer. There was a guy a year or so ago that hit a deer and rolled his car goin home from finals iirc and he had a wall. The only thing that saves his life was the wall because it kept the cabin from crushing in. No walls aren't just for show vehicles. Me and jeff drive daily with them and I'm sure plenty o others do to. 2006 F-150 4 DC XL M2 18's Walled Daily Driver XS Power 4 DC 3.5kw Team DC Team S.P.L. SoCaLBaMF Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 Now If you got in a head-on collision.. I dont think anything is safe obviously. But I would prefer a bolted down, sealed off from cabin box, than a small 12" woofer box being thrown around when you get in a crash and maybe knocking you in the head. 2004 Bagged Trailblazer (4)18" Sundown Nsv3s (4) Taramps HD10000s, Taramps DSP3000, Lanzar opti 250x2, AB 100x4 (2)DC power SP 270s, (14)XS Power d3100s, (1)d6500

mxman38 Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 ive had a wall in my dd for 3 years, just make sure shes bolted down, im sure it acts as a roof support for sure.
Boon Posted September 18, 2010 Report Posted September 18, 2010 If you have ANY enclosure that could shift and become a hazard in a wreck then you shouldn't have it in the car. If your wall can move at all then you built it wrong and shouldn't be doing a wall in the first place. As dwright mentioned, some guy with a Focus flipped it a couple of years ago driving home from Finals, the wall basically acted like a roll-cage. 10.x volts fo' life!
