mbdblue
figure Id ask....anyone done one? I don't remember seeing them on here before and I figured Id ask why...My next box design is for 2 12s and I really need the whole inside of the box, plus I want to try it, cuz I think it would look cool. any reason why I shouldn't? edit: I forgot to mention, the port will have a sleeve fitted for competition. so I dont have to go around with a 46hz tune all the time. trafficjamz
Wouldn't this be done with a fiberglass box to place the vent where you want and these fleece it..., couple years back lightning had a focus that had the vent outside of the box by a bit and it sounded great! hdorre
How? Slot ports use 3 common port walls. If a port is external, its independent (0 common port walls). Therefore, it wouldn't be a slot. Alex K
i dont remember who it was, but someone here had a long ass port that was ported through the arm rest. that thing was like 6 ft long by 5x5. kryptonite
Thinking of doing it in my truck and making it do triple duty as a port, arm rest and amp mounting spot (properly anchored to the floor to reduce vibration of course) Quote DC SOUND LAB NUT HUGGERCurrently Own 4 - 18" lvl 6s (m3) w/full Carbon Fiber option 2 - DC 5k lvl 4 motor lvl 2 motor On 8/2/2013 at 8:13 PM, n8ball2013 said: this is much worse. tejcurrent
Its really a square external port, since a slot must be internal. I used one in a box for a type-x. It sounded pretty good and did a decent number from a trunk. Quote tejcurrent XS Power T3

Torres
call me crazy, but even with an external port i would still consider a slot port unless it had 4 independent walls. but that's just me
