ok i tried it in a brand new Audi hatchback. The verdict is, it sounds pretty damn good!! It does NOT sound aweful...but i need to make the ports bigger, seal every panel as if i am going to keep the box, and then try again. A leaky bandpass box is a shitty bandpass box and this thing is leaking everywhere lol - but it STILL sounded good. So i will experiment all week this week with it and decide by next weekend if i will keep it or not. why a bandpass you ask? why not ported? i would LOVE to just do a ported box but getting the bass into the cabin is a problem with this car. I don't want to settle with just aiming the box backward. A proper bandpass will allow me to port up into the deck with just a few holes. That is already more then i want to do to my brand new car. (still new to me!). I usually save the butchering for after i have the pink-slip in my hand lol.

thanks man! if you notice, only that outside "rib" is in the groove and it actually helps the woofer seal itself since the foam is a little further inside the ring. Tomorrow, i am going to use a drill press and drill all the holes (so they are perfectly straight) and then basically bolt the subs to each other. The wood in between is only there to keep the surrounds from touching. anyway, wish me luck, bandpasses are touchy and this one might fail. The design looks good on paper though.....that don't always translate to real life
