Using a drill to twist multiple runs of single strand wire together to create a braided line

From the other night -- left number is dash and right number is kick panel. It's our new SPL project... so far we haven't officially stated what is in it so if you know (shhhhhhhhh) -- but we'll have it at a show soon then, of course, have all the info out there! It's mainly a burp vehicle and the absolute peak is 60 Hz but we have done pretty good numbers in the 40s range as well -- haven't really played lower than that as of yet. We did have it up to a 165.4 as well with a few tweaks.

My latest project. Recently, i replaced my halogen fog lights with an HID kit. I wanted them to match my stock HID projectors. Well, they didn't. They are 8000k, my stock ones are probably 4300k (i don't know). Anyway, i figured the difference wouldn't be too much and i don't drive with my fogs on hardly at all......but the difference was pretty big. Then i realized my high beams are also halogen. So now i have a serious color mismatch issue going on LOL. I ended up getting 8000k bulbs for my stock projectors, and replacing them. While i had the front end tore apart, i went ahead and installed an HID kit (also 8000k) into the high beams. I mainly did this for color matching reasons and it looks pretty nice. They shouldn't bother anyone since i rarely drive with my fogs on and as most of you know, or should, if my brights are on, nobody is in front of me. So no prob on that. Anyway, there is more to the story. About a month or two ago, i dropped anchor HARD on a concrete parking block when i stopped to eat at Sonic. When i backed off, it just about ripped the entire thing off. I was so embarrassed LOL. But i drove to the shop, flapping and all, and fixed it at 11pm. I "rigged" it back up so good, i really wasn't in a hurry to change it. Well, i figured while i had to do the headlights anyway, i might as well replace the bumper skin as well. It's been ready to go since like the first week this all happened. They are getting ready to shoot the car for PAS-MAG so i want it looking fresh. So these pics are both the HID install AND a few pics of it after a full detail, and ready for pictures tomorrow don't let the camera fool you....if you see ANY green. There isn't any green. It is white but has a slight purple tint to it. Nothing outrageous. Here are the HID fogs with stock headlights. The kit for the high beams the replacement bulb for the factory HID Projectors Having a lift is FTMFW While the grill has to come out and go on the new bumper skin, i might as well rip off the old Plasti-dip and re-do it. It was OK but had a few small flaws. Now its NICCEEE!

or if you have a little gap / crack then apply glue directly into the gap and lightly sand the surface around it and on top of it, the saw dust will work its way into the gap and stick to the glue creating a natural filler. when the glue dries the filled area should be hard as a rock.

This is a really cool thread. I joined the forum not but a month or two after it was first created and quickly racked up 4000 posts. Then when I went to college I was inactive for about 4 and a half years. When you're broke in college, car audio is not the top priority for funds, and coming to the forums just made me miss it even more so I stayed away. Hell I didn't even have a car then. I have since graduated, bought a car, and threw in a damn wall. You could say that I'm back in the game now. lol Feels good to be back on the forums.

Nice practical examples! Since you're covering voltage/current in and out of various sources and loads, it might be handy to very quickly go over Kirchhoff's Voltage and Current laws. Or something along the lines of the conservation of power rules which you mostly covered by saying that the power out of the source = the power into the load. I've seen a lot of people on here confused about how power from a source gets distributed to more then one load. Never hurts to quote some laws (like Ohms Law already mentioned) since there are some people occasionally who think they can invent their own laws from time to time. While you're still on DC circuits, any plans on doing a practical example using an alternator, battery and an amplifier and explain how they interact? This especially ties into the conservation of power since there are a lot of inexperienced people running HUGE amps from a stock electrical system who are blaming the equipment because its blowing up. Just because you have a 10kW amp, doesn't mean that it magically produces that 10kW...

How about boon? That guy could tell you what every flake of circuit board in an amp could do.

I push mine past xmax every day. As far as they'll go without bottoming out. Year and a half later no issues

Interesting dont see alot about burp vehicles anymore. Seems the focus has been the musical ground pounders but these types of things will always have a special place in my heart for sheer badassery
