i feel like i better close this now before i get the "this is the reason" or "this would make it better" posts. Maybe someday i will come up with something that will make some of you happy but most certainly people will still complain regardless. It is 1000% impossible to have any contest without a portion of the people still unhappy and "think" they have a better way. only the future will tell. but i HIGHLY thank the people who actively participated, those who did so month after month and never won, and never complained........those who did win and eventually put winnings to good use.....and also those who won but donated their winnings to someone else. It's been fun!

due to low turn out on the SOTM contests, with regret, i am cancelling it for the time being. Thanks for all that participate whether it is voting or nominations. I wish this wasn't the case but with only 14 entries for a $450 prize this month (for example), it is a monumental waste of time and money to keep doing this. It's so pretty

nobody "cried" because it was posted on FB. They probably cried when people who didn't give two shit's about that person in particular voted for said person. I encourage you guys to post on FB but i almost NEVER saw any true support for SOTM from anyone outside of here. If you do it strictly to get random votes from random people than yes, people will bitch. But if you genuinely are trying to get new faces that love car audio to come in, stay a while and participate then that is ok. If someone from FB comes in and votes for a build he really likes instead of "helping you win" i see no problem with that.

Ok so i just called in about my issue with my recent purchase that i now have 2 XL subs with different surrounds and dust covers. I just want to post a picture here to make sure i know exactly what i have on each sub (incase i had my s**t mixed up on the phone) if you could verify for me. The sub on the left is the sub i bought when you first started sending out the m2's and the right one i just bought from droppinhzaudio.com that was a display item. I like the looks of both but obviously i need them to match before being put together

It is my opinion that most folks who believe they lacked top-end ran them ported. I owned & ran a Brahma 15" in a sealed enclosure in my vehicle for some time and had no such observation of the top-end. I even did a test pairing it with a tweeter and a passive crossover and mid-range was also fairly impressive considering it was a sub-woofer. ---------- It's the same reason people think our X, Z v.4, etc lack top-end... the lack of parameter shift over stroke : http://www.diysubwoofers.org/misc/dumax/details/adire_audio_brahma_12.pdf KMS vs. X is very similar to our new platform drivers except it is not over as wide of a stroke range (naturally... as they used an 8" spider and a standard frame) -- but in it's range it is MEGA flat. but but but if you wire the amp at 1 ohm, that means it plays at 1 ohm and you get all that claimed power at 1 ohm.... there is no such thing as impedance errr box rise because they used ratchet straps to hold the box down........ which makes me wonder. if square woofers put out square waves, does that mean rectangular amplifiers put out rectangular waves? is the only way to get round unclipped waves to use a round woofer and round amplifiers? mind = blown

whats the point in doing a test at .5 ohm.. chances of amp ever seeing that load are very slim.maybe if you wire to .25 or .125 . the numbers you should be worried about are 2 ohm 4 ohm and 6 ohm. 1 ohm if you compete... who cares if it does a gazillion watts at .5 if you will never ever see that. you will see smoke before the amp sees .5 after rise

Neo and linearity in the same package is really cool. Been wanting to try an old XXX or an adire extreme, so if these new subs fill that niche I'll be all over them. Shame these Sundown XBL^2 protos never went into production, but looking forward to the new linear BL sub. .
