    Interesting stuff guys, thanks. I always heard the whole *sitting on concrete is bad for batteries* stuff too. Never knew why or never knew anyone to prove or disprove it. Always avoided it anyways. Nice to know it doesn't matter though.

    I bought it BNIB from a member here. Voltage on it resting and charging was fine, thought the inside was still intact and planned on using it, never used it. Not even sure if they would take it back given all the circumstances. Maybe should have checked but I am just sick of dealing with shit lately. Already got new one on order. Thanks for the concern/idea though. =)

    I agree with this but what from what I know is that those amps are suppose to do close to rated. 2k per t2d415 is a little much imo. They like power and all but I have also burnt a t2d415 on a t1500.1bdcp when I was new to this still. I clipped the hell out of it for 3months before it started smelling. Popped my hatch door and out came rolling smoke. Took me weeks to get that smell out the car. op, your new. Before pushing subs past their limits get some exp under your belt. Give them rated and experiment with box building. I agree. I am sorry. Personally you should just do rated. Never look at "max wattage", always look at RMS though. No one here will disagree with that part of it. Because you wanna run Hifonics you are either new or on a budget and bother of those are fine. For right now try and run a true 1200 watts RMS for EACH sub and they will already be at their full potential and you shouldn't (knock on wood) have to worry about overpowering them to the point of destroying them. setting gains correctly though....the key to all systems

    #1 Never look at a subs max wattage, that's for burps at comps. Look at it's RMS rating, that's continuous power #2 That amp does not do 2400 watts #3 Those subs have 4" Voice coils and my own personal opinion would be that I would run one of those amps per but you will be over powering them and you need to make sure amp gains are set correctly etc. Honestly what's wrong with getting one big quality amp or 2 smaller quality amps etc.? #4 electrical is most important so make sure it's up to snuff, takes power to make power. Let us know what you go with in the end and we can steer you towards what you should expect to have for electrical. Where are you located?

    True 5k RMS? What amp(s)? What HO alternator? With legit 5k and legit HO alt and XS Power under the hood I would try 2 D3100 and watch your voltage with a good volt meter. If you need more then possibly add another but make sure connections are good, wiring is adequate, grounds are up to par, etc. etc. Everything plays a role.

      i took the most time off work last summer, building, than i ever have in my working career. I have capped my bankable vacation and sick time, till that summer..lol.

      I have a shit job that some how pays well, we have 5 different shifts alone, and 1 shift in and of itself has 8-4, 7-3, 6-2, as day shift but of course goes around the clock (and that's just 3 crew of the 5 crews) but that's what you get when you work at a facility that has 2k employees and a company that's profit alone for the 4th quarter of last year was over 7 Billion...profit

      That is the only thing I am telling myself right now. But this is the third thing I have been over looked on so far at this company. There is one more thing I have tried we'll see how that goes. But yea either way it sucks.

      Fuel leak, ended up being the whole sending unit bullcrap which is all one huge ass piece on this vehicle. plus had tranny, diffs., etc. switched over to Amsoil.

    Ok thanks guys. Also, I have no choice of what the charger/maintainer makes them go up to, I watched and it goes to about 14.8 then drops back down, never really any higher. Keep in mind they have been on this maintained for a while now with no load so they are fully charged. As being fully charged the maintainer spikes them up to the 14.8 then must stop because they then drop back down to resting before my eyes, usually getting to 14 pretty quick then down to resting a little slower. This is in regards to not charging them over 14.4

    No worries on the delay man. It has been on the charger and is indeed Not leaking. I am gonna go ahead and use it as is and be happy. lol Thanks!! I have 2 D3100's and 6 XP3000's all hooked together in the house on a maintainer and resting voltage is 13.2 and they never seem to go any lower for the maintainer to actually kick on so once a day I unplug it and replug it back in just so it charges them up to the high 14's before I let it sit again till the next day. Sometimes I might let it sit for a couple days plugged in if I forget but I have yet to see the maintainer work without me unplugging and plugging back in. The charger is a 7.2 amp and even with all 8 of these beast batteries hooked together it still only takes maybe seconds to minutes to have all batteries reading (VM hooked on each side of the bank) 14.6'ish and rising but then I normally just stop looking because I'm happy with what it's doing, lol. Normal?
