  1. MC ADE. The end. LOLZ! Da Train (How Much Can You Take) - one of my favorite old school bass songs Ever. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlnBSSi_S4I&feature=youtu.be
  2. I had a ball python that had gotten to about 5'. One day I took her out and she started constricting on my arm. After I peeled her off, I found her a new home.
  3. ^ this is a GREAT site. My wife and I own 3 Pits. All 3 are rescues. That whole "get a taste for blood" is a total myth.
  4. Brutal!! Glad you were belted in and made it out alright. I think you may be right on the deer- They are brutal viscous things. Here in Mississippi, we have more deer than people. If I remember correctly, you guys have the same situation in TX. I Know you guys have some whoppers out there. ...me thinks it is time to settle the score and start Hunting!!! Again, glad you are alright!
  5. Dunno Yet- I haven't tried them. But with the low wattage (10 wrms / 20 max) they would have to be run in larger groups. I'm thinking about doing them on my HU with a simple -6 db (capacitor) crossover @500 hz to see what will happen. They are bound to be good for vocals on the cheap...
  6. I am thinking about doing 4 of these in my A-Pillars. ...I already have them. http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=289-127 For $3 each?!?!? Psh... why not?
  7. You old farts are making this 32 year old feel younger. Audio does seem to get a bit harder and harder every year- not b/c of the audio or equipment, but because of all of these "young punks" as I like to call them. ....Then I look around and realize, oh crap- I'm the old "that guy" dude. LOL!
  8. Great Test! If anyone still goes with peel and seal after this (not that I haven't used it), they can't say that they didn't know what they were getting. N8- you are KILLING ME!! lol
  9. I have some of those little houses. My Aunt had an entire CITY. The whole thing laid out in her dining room... and I mean it took up the whole dining room. Pretty freakin' cool if you ask me. Keep them coming guys! We are getting close to Thanksgiving- like there is anything better to do than to hang Christmas lights and decorations.
  10. Poncho: You talking about this one? Very tempting..... http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&productId=100647653&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&cm_sp=6b4d5a8f-700d-4ff7-86d9-8d600696f427
  11. Cool. I will have to check in to that Home Depot version. We got about 5 inches of snow at the very beginning of this year- before I got the roof lights down. You can't tell by the photo so much, but I know what you mean about lighting everything up.
  12. Thanks Brother! Do it!!! Get into a contest with the neighbors, get them fired up, make them think they can win, then utterly and completely defeat them!!!! Very nice!! You have a controller and all of that jazz? I looked into that for a minute, then I realized just how much money it was really going to take, and I said nuh-uh. Life, family and audio are $$$ enough.
  13. Ford Pinto Station Wagon with 20k watts in a wall- Turbo 5.0. Keep the roof rack, fake wood grain, and 70s STACHE!!!!
  14. I put 3 Hifonics Brutus 1600s on one BASS KNOB - I just put like wires together and put the all to one bass knob. Worked like a champ. I know your amps are different, but maybe the info will help.
  15. It does have a 5/180 degree "DIN" input on the back of it that serves as the Reel-to-Reel input into the console. So.... here is what is going to happen SOON: I am going to get or make an adapter that will allow me to turn phono output into DIN input- and I will be able to play whatever I want through it- just using a digital source. hehehe Won't that anger the Time and Space stereo Gods though? Playing Dubstep on an antique stereo? This thing is supposed to play Glen Miller, Perry Como and Frank Sanatra! I don't want to be responsible for causing the end of the world.... hehehe
  16. Oh- glad you saw that, I almost forgot. That is pretty freakin' cool: Depending on where you are in the world, this thing could be used regardless of wall socket voltage. All you had to do was to know what voltage the outlet was (110, 220, etc...) and put the correct sized fuse in the right spot. The power supply then takes that power and steps it to whatever it needs. When I saw that I was like HOLY CRAP! lol I know right? I will be looking for more literature on this thing, but it seems pretty sparse. I have found other JVC Nivico's, but none just like this one. I do have some papers that were in it, but they are mostly diagrams/schematics. SERIOUSLY. And they are wicked brittle. I need to scan them before they turn to dust. You wouldn't think it would get loud with those high impedance speakers and such a low wattage, but you would be surprised. It won't shake the glass or anything, but it will get plenty loud. I did find that the Tubes put out 18 watts to each channel. That is true old school Vacuum Tube watts. So- don't think of it like a Car Head Unit 18 watts. It isn't. And it sure doesn't sound like it. As soon as I get some of my old records, I am going to make a video.
  17. Yeah, it shined up pretty well. Moisture over the years has done a bit of damage to the wood underneath and to some of the wood veneer on a side piece. Also- a freakin' mouse got in it at some point and chewed up some of the wood from the inside and got a couple of wires. I had to fix some wires and shielding here and there....
  18. Well- maybe not that old.... but still- & I know that this isn't the normal fare for SMD, even in the home audio section, but I just wanted to show off my new toy! I am not totally sure of the age on this thing because it doesn't have a date ANYWHERE on it and there is no info that I can find on the internet to nail it down. This was my Grandparents' old stereo (so if you make fun of it, I will shoot you) j/k It is a JVC Nivico "Perfect Stereo". It has: Record player, Frequency Modulation (FM) radio, Short Wave (SW) radio, Medium Wave (MW) radio, 4-Track Reel-to-Reel (stoopid cool if you ask me- especially when the reels are rolling). It has a 8" woofer and 3.5" tweeter on each side. ....oh- and it runs on Vacuum Tubes. LOTS and LOTS of Vacuum Tubes. It took a massive amount of cleaning and work just to get it to this shape. It still has a way to go to get it as cherry as I want it, but for now- this will do. It is up and running, fairly clean, and is fully functional now. I don't know if you can tell from the photo, but the 8 is 400 ohm and the 3.5 is 200 ohm. Also, they are wired through the basket frame... put the two of those together = shock time if you touch the speakers themselves. Amazingly- all the tubes work. I had to do a tremendous amount of clean up and work to get this joker up and running again. ....but, for 40-50 years old, not bad. It sounds GREAT by the way. Teh TUBES man! They are wonderful.
