  1. In the grand scheme of things concerning amps, this is right on.
  2. i made sure not to add vs, what should i change to? and are those better than the tarantula and rubicon? could you break down the lines in accordance to the superiority? (im new to soundstream) I'd take the comparison factor out of your title And IMO the Reference amps are the ONLY Soundstream amps worthy of the name they established back in the day. All the others, Rubicon, Picasso, Tarantula, are just middle of the line at best. There a lot of technology in the Ref amps that they kept. Insane specs like 3000+ damping factor. These have nothing in common with the other lines they carry. Not trying to bash, just sayin.
  3. oh, and Hifonics USED TO BE a awesome brand... but in the early 2ks a lot of Brands got bought up and now get half decently made Chinese equipment with these classic names. Orion MB Quart (this one kills me MB Quart was epic back in the day) Soundstream (debatable) Hifonics USAmps All of these companies now DO NOT put out the kind of stuff now that made them famous.
  4. there are a lot more factors that will attribute to you running "rated" than just voltage. It won't make much difference in your case IMO.
  5. Change your title asap before you get locked, bro. No vs threads It's hard to say between brands, they both have decent and not so decent amps. If I were really into SQ I'd definitely check out Soundstream Reference amps. Those have been my dream amps since they came out in the 90s.
  6. Be careful, tho... I'm tuned to 29.8. You need a big ass box, I'm 20% more volume than recommended and tuned 5hz lower. No infrasonic filter but I like to live dangerously. damn what camera are you using? surprised it can pick up freq's that low Canon FS100. It's not HD but it has awesome mics on it.
  7. Yea pretty much. My phone distorts at max vol, so that was at one notch down. I don't have a DD-1 to test it with FTL. I figure since my amp is CEA rated 180 to the sub, I used a DMM and set my gains with 0db tones from a CD I Made using Cool Edit Pro. Set them to 30/35 vol so I know where I won't distort (I hope) I had my vol at 30 and sub level at +10/15 where I set 0db at. If that doesn't make sense, it's because I'm drunk.
  8. Mine plays down to 3hz. Go to 2:10 It does 14hz like crazy. It doesn't do 3hz very loud, but it does do it from a ported box
  9. DAT was just a bit better than CD I believe... 16 bit @48Khz over 44.1Khz for CD IIRC
  10. oh daaaamn 6 Green Button Alpines FOR THE MUTHAFUCKIN WIN!!!! EDIT: yah i know this has 8 I can count.... back in the day all alpines had 6 presets in green. Those were the days.
  11. EDIT: oops nevermind. I didn't read. Still sucks. Not what you wanted. I hate when my advice is taken because it's the least of the evils. But hey, you took my advice.
  12. http://www.ebay.com/itm/SAX-1200D-SUNDOWN-AUDIO-AMP-1CH-2400W-MAX-SUB-AMPLIFIER-/120612890036?pt=Car_Amplifiers&hash=item1c1516a5b4 all I could find
  13. go for the AQ Drew. It's easier on you right now than the AP then you can get the second one and strap that bish. And 1200 watt amps are easy to sell once you're ready to move up
  14. AQ is sold on their site. Price is $269 for the AQ1200.1 or $199 for the AQ750.1. Both 1 ohm stable and both can strap @2ohms and they seem to be in stock. Says ships in 24 hours
  15. Or you could do one AQ1200.1 just for now, then get a second one when you can and then strap them. I know what it's like to have to wait and save for gear, this atleast gets you going. Also not pushing AQ but all I hear is good stuff about 'em and awesome watt per dollar.
  16. I'd consider strapping two AQ750.1's before going audio pipe or are they now SQ750.1's???
  17. So tell me why you went to Mac???? http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/671-official-bumpin-songs-list/page__fromsearch__1 Start here
