It would depend on what ohm type r's your planning on running. If you ran 3 dual 4 ohm r's a Sundown saz2000d would be perfect for them. With 3 dual 4's you would be at .67 ohms and would get more than enough power out of a 2000d. If you ran 4 dual 4 ohm r's then you would have to run the amp at .5 ohms to make the best amount of power for the subs. Now let's say that you have the dual 2 ohm versions of the r. With 3 of them you could run at 1.33 ohms. If you ran 4 dual 2's you would need to run at 1 ohm. What I'm getting at is pretty much any way you look at it a Sundown saz2000d would be the perfect amp for either 3 or 4 dual 2 or dual 4 ohm Alpine Type R's. I would think that you'd be most happy with either 3 or 4 dual 4's since you would be able to make more power at a lower impedence. As long as you have the electrical to back the amp up you'd be fine.

New beat I made for the bass heads
Nightshade replied to Djmixmasterkid's topic in Tunez - All things music related
Thanks anyway, it's just a little too low for me. I am building a new daily box, but it will be tuned to 36hz so probably shouldn't play below 30hz or so with it I still like output and tuning too low without a ton of cone area and power definately makes output suffer. -

Nightshade replied to Djmixmasterkid's topic in Tunez - All things music related
Before I download what are the freq's used in the song? If the peaks are below 32hz then I won't play it on my setup. I'm not tuned that low and risk hurting stuff playing lower than 32. -
Alternator help
Nightshade replied to Ao1FTW's topic in Engine and Performance - Anything for that couple extra horses!
That's why you haven't found one, cause you haven't went to a speciality alt company to get one. I'd have to reccomend DC Power for you. I'm sure you can get an alt that will just bolt right into place that will do every bit of 270 amps and probably close to 190-200 at idle. A teamate of mine is going to be getting one for a Cavy from Rob soon too. I'd send DC Power Rob or DC Power Kyle a pm and tell them what your looking for. -
Death of woofer, from zip tie??
Nightshade replied to bigredishott's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
Damn man all the amps and stuff in front of your subs is no doubt hurting your output. If I were you I'd move all that shit to the trunk and be preparred for it to be louder. It may not be very audible by the ear but I guarantee that you'll gain spl on the term lab if you do so. That may not be your thing either, but I would give it a shot even if your remotely interested in a score. -
Funny but a repost

How about if you have no comment next time you actually leave it that way. The last thing this guy needs is your sarcasim. This is a good guy that is in a very bad spot right now. I don't expect you to know since your new to this forum, but he's been here for quite a while and is always becoming the butt of someone's joke. I know him personally and he's a good person who doesn't deserve criticism from people here. The man has a very bad back condition and can hardly get around anymore and is still trying to do something that he loves and makes him happy but some of you think it's necessary to jump on him like your his father. Really this is uncalled for, leave him be and don't make smart ass comments in his thread he is using to try and help to contribute to a hobby that he loves.

Why's everyone always gotta give Harley shit? He means no one any harm and everyone is always busting his balls. This is one hell of a nice guy and he's trying to show his enthuasism and just gets put down for it. Damn the man's truck got taken and he's still trying to keep the bass in at least one of his rides. Give him a break. I'll be watching the build Harley.

I would say it depends on if you want indash video or not. I own the 6000ub myself and so do tons of others on the site and I know it is a fantastic deck for the price. I got mine brand new off of OCS.com for $199 or something like that. It has just about everything you would want. A 7 band eq, ipod cable without seperate adapter, aux input, sub control, plays mp3 wma discs, ip bus compatible. It is just a nice deck for a very reasonable price. If your not completely sold on the indash video module the 6000 is a great choice. I'm guessing the other half of the forum that owns it will tell you the same. It is probably the most popular and used deck here followed by the Alpine 9886.

I think that is a nice setup that you have planned there, but there are much better comps out there then the AQ ones that are priced too high for something not too special. There are many other brand comp sets you could get for cheaper that would be better for you. Look into CDT. Also I agree that you might not want to go with the 3500's. What about running 4 of the 1200's each at 1 ohm so you get right around 1200 or so rms to each sub? It's an idea and will require a bit more wire and stuff so it may not be practical.

New H/O alt or big battery?
Nightshade replied to Hunters21w's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Well if your planning on replacing the starting battery I would look for amps, cold cranking amps, and amp hours. For example something that looks like this to replace the starting battery would be sufficient: 1000 amps, 675 cold cranking amps, and 58 amp hours. That would be something along the lines of an Optima Red Top. Now for a secondary battery I would focus on amps and amp hours. For example my XS Power D3100's are rated at 3200 amps and 117 amp hours, which is awesome out of a G31 battery. -
New H/O alt or big battery?
Nightshade replied to Hunters21w's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
This is the man you want to talk to about your alt needs. Probably one of the nicest guys I've ever talked to. He builds beast alternators. I can't wait to throw 10K watts at mine and see how steady that voltage sits. Off topic question Rob, am I going to need a different size belt for the new alt since it's going to have a bigger pulley? -
New H/O alt or big battery?
Nightshade replied to Hunters21w's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Agreed, especially if it's a daily driver and you aren't just burping the car. What 3K amp are you running in it? Oh yeah..... dcpowerinc.com for all your alternator needs. They are one of the best in the business and will hook it up proper. -

Nightshade replied to cookiemonster's topic in Competitors Corner
Gonna try to come Rob can get me my alternator in time. I've got a guy lined up to help me put it on instead of taking it to a shop and getting charged $160. My car is a pain in the ass to get to the alt, it's about a third of the way down the engine and in the back left hand corner. I think it has to be accessed from below. I would bet that you or Ray would know since you did Jose's car. Any tips Walter? -

Ahh Rob but your forgeting your own teamate Steve Sears that can do over a 153 out of the trunk with the seat up. There is also a guy in Canada don't know his real name but goes by Crabmustang on Termpro that does almost a 153 out of the trunk of a Cavy with 1 RD 15. Now I know that Steve hasn't done the score at a Db Drag show yet but this year he will. As for the Crabmustang guy I know he has. You are most definately the loudest pair of 10's out of a trunk that I think I've EVER seen!!!

X2, you can wait for an amp. This is a great deal on that woofer.
-
By system do you mean deck, amp, subs, wiring, highs, box, and other misc materials? If so I don't see $500 really being a whole lot of money to do it with.

Contact Derrick824 cause he can make you any type of banner that you want. He is the offical producer of the Sundown Audio banner.
