  1. sundown saz2500 would be a good combo. But if you havent upgraded youre electrical yet i would buy the audioque 2200 and upgrade your electrical.
  2. is that with the car off?
  3. They arent recomended because they put more strain on the electrical but if you have a good electrical you can use it
  4. I'm surprised your "stock" alternator is still running with all of that drain, what is your alternator rated at? i'm guessing at most 120Ah? Sorry for sounding like a kill joy here but any lengthy playing will see you ruin your alternator He said he is going to replace the alt asap. 120A not Ah, A= amps(ampere in nederlands) Ah=Amphour(ampere uur in het nederlands) I think he knows it.
  5. Lol, check out this waste of mdf.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WyNobCt46tQ&feature=related
  6. my subs are dual 1.4's, would the 7.5k run happily at 0.35ohm daily? obviously power supply will be up to scratch by the time i get one of these. guessing with box rise and all that it should be fine. sure i have read on here people running them that low. Thanks Don't do 0.35 ohm daily, it's not smart, going below 1-0.7 ohm daily is not very smart. It won't last long and it will not put out a lot more power. You shouldn't count on rise in a daily setup, rise is not always rise it can also drop to .35 ohms and sometimes below..
  7. why would you want 200-400watts more? :s
  8. Why is that? It all depends on the amp which you are using. But the difference from what level 40 or 60hz starts clipping should be really small. Some amps clip more at 40hz. EDIT: Lol at title. witch... xD
  9. I live in Belgium it costs me a bit more then 8 dollar per gallon. You guys don't have anything to complain about.
  10. waste of money in my opinion.when 4-5 8s have the same cone area as 1 15.. and 15s have more efficiency because there louder with less power.. usual rise is .7ohm on each sub in a ported box.. Lol, where does the magic efficiency comes from? Why would 1 15 be louder then 4-5 8`s with the same cone area? (4-5 motors against 1.) And usually rise is 0.7 ohms? That is very funny.
  11. This. I drive too fast sometimes, but i do that at the right time, in the right place. If i get a ticket i just pay and get over with it.(haven't had any yet)
  12. Try to find the real fine sand, REALLY fine. I don't know a lot about horns but doesn't it has too much loading chamber? :s
  13. It's really nothing about class, its more of how much rms is the amp rated for. A Class D amplifier is more efficient compared to a Class A/B amplifier therefore you can draw more current using a Class D amplifier. With a Class D amplifier one run of 1/0 gauge wire may suffice but with a Class A/B amplifier you will definitely need two runs of 1/0 gauge. Uhm. no. You can draw the same amount of current, only the power comming out of the amp will be lower.(but new class a and class D amps are comparable in efficiency..) It's about how many amps the amp will draw, to know that easily just check the fuses on the amp and make sure the wire can handle it easily.
  14. I do not recommend this, it changes the parameters of the subwoofer. I bought some infinitys that had foam on one and not the other from a friend doing that and you could clearly tell which one had the foam on it just by watching the excursion. Lol, are you serious? THe MMs of the driver will probably higher then 200g and adding about 0.5g of foam won't change the parameters that much. Something else was wrong with the driver or you used a LOT . Completely serious, there wasn't much on the cone either just two small chunks one for each side. I sold the subs to a friend and they're still slamming to this day, and to this day you can still see which one has foam on it and which one doesn't. I'm just telling you from experience, you can throw numbers around all you want but at the end of the day it will change parameters...maybe not much as you said but they will still change, and side by side its noticeable. If u can see the difference it means one of the subs was faulty before you even put the foam on it. Offcourse parameters will change, but it won't be noticable.
  15. nope its a volvo I meant the ATV °_°

  17. Only admins can change it. (mods maybe to, i dunno) THe "db-level" goes up according to the amount of posts you type.
  18. Thought so.. Well find out how much the amp puts out and then use the formula. But by using a dmm you can never know if it clips or not. At what volume do you set the gain?(on the HU)
  19. well I set all my JL amps up with a DMM my JL 1000/1 doesn't clip until 44.7v and my JL 500/1 clips at 31.6v both at 2 ohm.. but Im not sure where my Polk Audio PA 500.4 amp clips at.. I got an Alpine cda 105 head unit and not sure how to check clipping on that either.. I do have a test tone CD from JL as all the stuff in my truck is JL except for polk amp and Mb quart RSI 216 components.. also when im checking for clipping on my JL amps should I have the head unit Alpine cda 105 Sub Woofer level at 0 or + 15 because when its at 0 my JL 1000/1 the gain will go all the way up without clipping ..I know the rest of stuff bass treble set at 0 loudness off etc please help Im lost Do you use a oscope to set the gains? Or a dmm? Alpine Hu's don't like to be turned up too much, they will clip easily. Subwoofer level has to be at +15
  20. That's why companies reccomend different aligments for their subs.
  21. amp will handle any amount of subs as long as the impedance is correct Subs wont handle it...
  22. Probably yes. But how did you set your gains? Half gain doesn't mean half power, you could be clipping..
  23. We were saying that because he wants to run a burp sub lol..thing has a fs of like 55hz Kind of funny to say, that its a burp sub because the fs is 55hz. Some dc subs have way higher fs when received new. Not only dc but other brands too..
