  1. it reminds me of an ABC box. i would say, give it a try. the ABC box looks retarded to me but it works. tuning those radiators will be interesting. edit- try the 1st one. the second wouldnt work. i would do ported box on the back side and just the sealed radiator with the 10"s on the front side. then you can tune the port real low and have the radiator tuned higher.
  2. had they just come out of the bathroom together?
  3. sure its possible if he runs the amp at 4ohms
  4. comcast. tons better than your rating.
  5. stick with the 12"s. three 10"s will need another 1k watts because there is another woofer(obviously lol) and you said the 15" wont fit.
  6. well 2kw is great for those subs. i would strongly recommend a high output alt. but just a second batt... i dunno. a kinetik 2400 might do the trick but even an 1800 would be a ton better than nothing.
  7. i believe the new model is the same as the old one. just new looks. i got my SX for 200 each so after shipping that sounds like a good price if they are new. 2000w on stock alt and 1 battery will not be enough. when i had 1500w (1k for subs, 500 for mids/highs) on that same electrical my lights dimmed so bad they were almost off. probably was getting close to 10v. even after i added a small battery and upgraded my front battery. just letting you know so you dont kill your new system because you cheaped out on a second battery. it takes power to make power.
  8. db-r.com has refurbished sundown 1000's for about $230. refurbs from them are as good as new and sundown amps are killer.
  9. its called ohm's law. amps x volts = watts so your 140amps x 13v = 1820w i use 13v to account for voltage drop. edit - but that doesnt mean the amp will do that much power. just means it cant do more than that. if you really want to test the power an amp puts out you need to get a DMM and a clamp meter. then you can measure the output voltage and amperage and find the real power.
  10. holy crap. 2500w to 14 subs? thats 35,000w! i want to see your electrical!
  11. haha, - and + on the same terminal. thats some big time fail. glad your car didnt burn down man. the alt does need a ground. find any other bolt on the engine for a ground point. i just used one of the bolts that hold the alt to the engine.
  12. i have this problem when i use IE but not foxfire. pisses me off because i have to use a new browser and the new forum lol.
  13. the xl will kill the level 5 on lower power. go up to 6000+ and the level 5 will shine. its just made for stupid crazy amounts of power. plan your system accordingly.
  14. i know a few good ones but i think any cd player will skip at 150db. i gave up on cds a long time ago because of that. do you not care about price?
  15. so you want a 2500w amp and the guy is trying to sell you a 1000w amp? he must make a ton of money off of a jl sale or he doesnt carry RF. anyways, go with the RF or look at other amps that'll do the same (or more) power for less.
  16. if your upgrading 6x9s ill bet the rest of the system needs more attention. i threw away the stock 6x9s when i first got my car and wont ever replace them. also 6x9s in the rear deck will blow pretty quick due to the pressure built up from the subs. you mind telling us what you have system wise already?
  17. x2!!! put that money into the system. $400 is nothing for audio. you dont want a kick ass show car with some fucking $30 speakers, you know? lol and a 1000w amp would be about half your audio budget so im sure youll be getting a much smaller amp so the 250amp alt is a little pointless.
  18. thats exactly what ive always wanted to paint a car. damnit, now when i do it ill be called meade jr. lol
  19. the yellow wires are constant +. thats why the amp stays on. connect that blue wire to the blue HU remote with the rubber connector. the black wire is your ground. please slap your friend in the face for connecting it to the antenna.
  20. $250 for boobs that mr.p has been pounding on? i could go to the strip club and see new boobs for a lot less
  21. the size of a sealed box can affect the sound of the woofer. smaller box, better high end, bigger box better low end. iirc so mr.p wanted crazy lows so he built a large sealed box. working great for him. all depends on your goals.
  22. lol a fuse holder doesnt turn your amp off. the remote turn on wire from your HU does that. and the amp isnt always putting out 3k watts. itll only do that at full volume. look at the amp and see if a wire from the + terminal on the amp is going to the remote terminal. that would mean he did it very wrong.
