you know your amps are filled with caps. they work pretty well for it lol. there are different types of caps and most people just assume the same standard for electrolytic caps goes for all of them. in general, they dont help us. they do help some people. but there are some bad ass caps that are better than batteries. if you got the coin.

just to keep it fair, i wouldnt give details like "single 15" in a crx" etc. then people will actually practice before hand instead of just showing up and testing raw skill. thats how they seem to do it on contest tv shows. might keep it more interesting if the competitors dont know if they are doing an spl setup, an sq front stage or a whole system.

would this be a total build or just a sub stage? what determines the winner? is this about how loud it gets, how good it looks, who can actually get it operational in the time limit?

whats wrong with that box? its an extremely common design. I've used it myself in the past and it worked great. 3 cubes is pretty big for 12"s. 2 cubes usually works great and it's what i would recommend.

its just a better sounding set. they are known as chameleons. if they were a little bit shallower i would have had them in my doors a long time ago. but i put the ctx in a buddy's car and we both really liked how they sounded. i would get a set while you still can. the only reason ID is closing is because one guy was an idiot. the real designer left and should be working on a new product line as we speak.

i'm not surprised it didnt sell well. its massive for a 4 channel and finding specs for the amp was pretty damn hard. i never found dimensions but did find your post with a 200.4 next to a 3500. the size was a deal breaker for my car. fucking beastly 4 channel though. thats a hell of a lot of power for most people's mids/highs. maybe you could look at making a 5 or 6 channel amp? ive heard a few people talking about them for SQ lately. doesnt seem to be a lot of options for those types of amps. a 6 channel would be great for a 3 way front stage.

holy shit, noobs unite! lol hmm... maybe the Fi subs are more expensive because they are made to take more power? dayton's speakers are actually quite good so you are just showing you dont know anything about them. the fi Q and that dayton have very similar efficiencies. so on that 300w they should be close to the same level. but none of this matters. two 18"s is a hell of a lot for a home theater setup. a single 15" in my house easily over powers the rest of the system. in a SQ audio setup you dont want any frequency range to be "hot". i can talk more about that if you want. just because you really want those subs and this is a chance to get them to you for free, doesnt mean its the correct fit for what you are doing. if you slow down and listen to these guys you will learn a lot. i see you are confident but to think you know more than everyone thats been on this earth 2-3x longer than you only proves how little you know. thats not an insult, most kids think they know it all. you know you have grown up when you realize how little you know.

having the wrong crossover to a comp set is like having a sub in the wrong box. it just wont sound right. plus it looks like you want the 8ohm oxygen speaker wired together with a 4ohm tweeter. 100w 8ohm midbass driver on an amp that im guessing will do around 50w at 8ohm. its just not enough power to really get some kick out of them. but by the specs i would go with the peerless over the seleniums, having never heard either. if i were you, i would just get a comp set and call it a day.
