  1. I finally got my new car. It's an 1995 Buick Le Sabre. It's got a pretty sizable trunk. But, getting two 15's in there without building it in there might be a little hard... I have two Obsidian Audio 15's, and an Sundown SAE 1200Dv.2. I was thinking of either A: Building a ported box smaller than what I had in my SUV. Or B: Doing Infinite Baffle. I've always wanted to try infinite baffle, but not sure how well the Obsidian's would do, especially with that much power. I measured my trunk: Rear seat to back, shortest distance: 36" Floor to Top, lowest spot: 15.5" Width, thinnest spot: 36" What you guys think? Maybe relocate my 15's into the house, and go another route?
  2. 3. Oh, something else. In Kennesaw, GA, it is REQUIRED BY LAW for each household to own and maintain a gun. Kennesaw was recently celebrating 25 years as a murder-free city. Looks like I'm moving to Kennesaw! Oh, and this: And this:
  4. Yeah, I kinda figured that. I saw a picture of this van the other day: But someone linked a photo to someone's response to it: Lol
  5. One question I had been wondering was what percentage of gun crime was done with illegally owned weapons? Here's what a google search found me: ‎80% of all gun crime in 1997 was done with illegally obtained weapons. 6% was undermined. Only 14% was done with legally obtained weapons http://www.policyalmanac.org/crime/archive/firearms_and_crime.shtml Less than 1% of firearms will ever be used in a commission of crime. FBI Uniform Crime Statistics 1994 90% of all violent crimes in the US did not involve firearms of any type Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, 1998 Here's something someone said that didn't have any reference, that I'm wondering is accurate: One study indicates that 'legal' guns are used 2.5 million times a year to properly and lawfully protect citizens. Also, someone posted that since it's introduction only one person with a concealed weapons permit has been arrested in a gun related crime. I've been searching and searching but can't find any newer statistics than those.
  6. Most people who go for something they call an "SQL" setup aren't really concerned about the best sound quality or highest SPL. They just want something that's sounds good and loud. It'll be hard to determine whether you're getting the "full potential" out of a setup like that. Set your gains right, make sure your electrical is up to par, and make sure your enclosure is solid and not flexing, and if it sounds loud and good and it makes you happy that's all that matters. If you end up deciding it's not enough, than it's time to upgrade. Trust me, it'll never be enough 'till you have a system so loud it kills you.
  7. I haven't really heard anything louder than my brother's friend's 4 Memphis 10's on a "3000" watt amp (been a while since I've heard it, mine might be louder). I want to go to next year's spring break national's so I can pop my ear cherries and hear a REAL system. Lol
  8. Well, define low. If you were doing more of a home theater or Sound Quality build, I'd go with an TC Sounds Epic 8". If you just were going to listen to music, that doesn't really go below the 30's, I'd get an SA8v.2. I've heard the SA8 does sound really nice, but I can vouch that my TC Sounds Epic 10" is one of the cleanest sounding subs I've heard. Don't expect really loud or numbers, but it does sound amazing. If you were to get the epic 8, get two of them and a Rockford T-500 bdCP, put them in an 1.5cu.ft enclosure (after displacements), tuned to 28 Hz with 12-14in.cu.ft port area, or an .75-1cu.ft. sealed enclosure (after displacements)
  9. I used to live in the boondocks in Pennsylvania when I was a kid. Me and my brothers would play in the woods all the time. Both my brothers got poison ivy multiple times, I haven't gotten it once *knocks on wood*. I might not be allergic to it.
  10. I've heard good things about Crescendo. They make PA 6.5's, 8's, and 10's. They also make super tweeters. Check out their website, maybe you can get one of their 4 channel amps and run them active. http://crescendoaudio.com/
  11. Even though he's kinda a white-trash-wigger I agree with this guy. http://youtu.be/yhK6mUvk_U8
  12. Yes, even though my electrical can't handle the full power of my SAE1200, they still get pretty loud. I'd imagine 6 18's would be freakin retarded. They sound awesome too. Get low on rap, and I've never heard a clearer kick drum. And I listen to some pretty fast metal. each double bass kick is loud and clear. I don't have sound deadener, but I for sure need some. My hatch window and sunroof sound like they're gonna break.
  13. If you're just planning on running one, get a D2 an AQ 750 If you're planning on getting a second one later on, get a D4 and an AQ 1200 Even if you get an AQ 750 and decide later that you wanted a second sub, they're strappable, so you can get a second D2 and wire them to the two strapped amps at 2 Ohms. Sundown amps are a little expensive for his budget, although worth every penny. I love my SAE 1200D. It's a BEAST. But here's some good deals on some SAZ-1500's. I got my SAE Refurbished from DB-r. Works GREAT. http://www.db-r.com/sell/store2/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=65_67_69_110
  14. 4 SA 15's, wall it. Or maybe 4 Obsidian 18's if you were open to other companies, and have the space.
  15. I'm going to sue the theater because I don't like hearing about mass shooting. Hopefully I'll get enough to get my truck fixed, 4 LMS ULTRAS on two NS-1's, and a bunch of pairs of the new Sundown Components in my doors, with a few 125.4's. Oh, and electrical that would be overkill even for that massive setup. I'll keep you all posted. (Just for the record, that was sarcasm)
  16. I have had 0 issues with UPS. I've never had anything broken from Fed Ex, but I usually know that my package is here because it seems they field goal kick it into my screen room.
  17. Get an HO alternator. Even if it doesn't fix the problem, it will save you trouble down the road. After you do that, if the problem still persists, maybe we can help you further.
  18. Get a trailor, fab up some removable seats. Or some cranking straps to tie things and people to the roof. Just tell them it's better than riding in a convertible.
  19. 10 Obsidian 18's = $1690 1 Sundown NS-1 = $1800 Put it in an 6th order if possible, settle for a 4th order if not. ??????? Profit.
