    On the ear-o-meter, I seem to peak at 37-39. I need to bring that down some, shrink the port or something.

      Cut strips of MDF and line the sides with it

      Never done it. If I try, I will just slide in mdf on the sides cut the same size as the current port. Drop 1 1/2" at a time to find the sound I want.
