  1. Are u talking about the guy with the Hyundai Tucson?? If so IMO there aren't many better, if any at building and designing enclsoures. If he's building you an enclosure w/ his octoport then it's gonna be very very expensive because i think he's the only person I've ever heard/seen with that sort of port. Personally I would never pay that much for an enclosure. For $800 you could experiment with at least 20 different boxes before catching up to that price. Just get a good design and build on your own, it will be a good learning experience anyways. Plus you'll have most of the winter to experiment with enclosures before the new competition season picks up for the most part.
  2. Done it with both subs and little power, just no pics/vids/etc to prove it haha. That is not the suggested enclosure for a single 18" BTL, don't know where u got that from. You could but they will be grossly underpowered... Without question you'd be much louder if you were to run FI BLs or Qs with that power. I'd rethink this whole setup before you waste money on something that won't be up to par or meet your expectations. With 2 18" BTLs I'd start with 2000w daily per woofer and go as high as 4k each(as long as it's clean power). With a minimum of 4,000w daily to the subs, you then will need to put in sum decent electrical upgrades(a few big batts + HO alt).
  3. Hifonics bx600, don't know if they still make it anymore but it used to do like 500-550 @ 1ohm.
  4. The old XX-Collosus were great amps for sure. The old XX series amps from Hifonics were so stout, I still have an older Hercules that I've let my buddy use for the last 3+ years with no issues at all. IMO the OP can get a much higher quality amp for a ton cheaper than the one posted.
  5. The case and internal pics look very very familiar, can't quite remember to what though. But that amp only does like 3k and the price tag is astronomical.
  6. What size wiring connects the post to the batt though?? Where does the alt + go to, batt under seat or the post under hood?? You can still wiring the normal big 3 just using the positive post, but IMO the weak link will be that wire that connects the two.
  7. The bassrace/streetbeat song I see a ton of people run(including myself) is Lil Jon - Push that nigga, Push that hoe. If you're looking for some songs to use for next time, let me know I have a huge list w/ the hz # so u can get one in the specific range. But if you're just looking to burp, use a test tone not music. That alone will give u a decent little gain and if u don't know where u peak just run a test sweep while metering to see where ur the loudest. Then use that specific tone to burp with.
  8. Budget is $1000 for just subs?? Also what kind of electrical do u have?? If u plan on running at least 2k you're gonna want a nice under hood batt + batt in back, big 3, and start looking into HO alts. All of that isn't exactly cheap either. If u need help with anything just ask. That actually is a good price for BNIB 15" L7s.
  9. Talk to Hal, prolli knows more about them than anyone I know. I've heard sum good things from the few people that have played around with them. Have you looked into any B2 audio gear??
  10. Bring up your voltage ASAP if u want those amps to work for much longer... But your scores will go up by burping tones and after installing your alt.
  11. I've been using bolt cutters for a couple years now and they can cut through anything like butter. When i was still working in a shop(like 3 years ago) I was using the handheld ones like the link from Home Depot listed. They still get the job done but not as easily as the bolt cutters do.
  12. It's completely impossible, give up now lol.
  13. SounDigital 8000.1... IMO there isn't a single better amp in that power range made regardless of price. Plus they have a small footprint to boot. For the alt, look into Ohio Gen also.
  14. I used the ZX2500.1s for a little while(got them from a friend) and was extremely impressed with them. If they weren't so power hungry @ 1ohm then I'd be running them in my new setup.
  15. Neither IMO, same power/build quality can be had for lower price. Plus only certain lines made my each company are higher quality. I wouldn't run anything but the Power line of amps, but the kicker ZX amps are all pretty nice amps.
  16. Just the wall w/ the subs I have planned in it will weigh in the neighborhood of 2k+ lbs... Not counting the 16-20 batts, amps, wiring, sound deadening, etc. One of the first things being done to my soon to be astro is bagging it.
  17. I hope that they aren't going into the same enclosure... Also I'd suggest just selling all the low end woofers u have and pick up something nice instead.
  18. I was just messing with ya Scottie, you helped me out with sum things in the past and I was just bustin' balls. I've used Kinetik for awhile now, but I'll be the first one to tell ya that an XS 3100 is more powerful than a Kinetik 2400. I'm planning on getting new batts maybe before I get my new build under way this winter, if so I'll be contacting you for sum pricing for 8+ 3100s.
  19. Awesome amp @ a great price, plus great seller... Really can't go wrong here.
  20. Nice price for sum great batts.
