  1. For sure, they are not the best subs on earth but they ae cheap. Keep your sub if you like it. And get a second one. But I don't think you need to tune so low. AQ recommend 36 Hz IIRC. That is a lot of power for those subs. They can handle that, but is it really necessary ? I don't really know. Focus more on the box than on power. It will be more efficient.
  2. Take a look at the ssa store. I think they have some great Bravox comps. Or you could look for a set of JBL gti 508 or 608 for "cheap". I've never listened to them but I usually trust JBL products (not the entry level ones though !). I found one set lately for $229. But I did not get it : I had no use for it
  3. That is how my box builder does it for years. Seems pretty easy to do. When it's done right, you can't see any "border". It looks like one single piece of carpet !
  4. woofersetc is on ebay too ! Most car audio internet shops have a store on ebay. No price limit ? Find some FOCAL K series. they will love your amp, even if they're ratde for 80-100 w rms per side. I run my 165 KP set with a 2 x 160 amp (Sundown sax 50.4 bridged at 4 Ohms) for more than a year. This set is 6 or 7 years old !
  5. 12 12" ? OMG That is a lot of woofers for a GTI. Mabe you can find the Warhorse for cheap. I think they are not made anymore. Price went down, real down ! Must be the cheapest 10,000 w amp ! I would have choose another amp and other subs, but it's your car and your system ! Good luck.
  6. Wow. So much flex from a single woofer ? Which one is it ? How much power is used ? Looks like an 18". Congrats.
  7. one DC XL 18' to FORT-DE-FRANCE in MARTINIQUE (French West Indies). I don't want USPS at all. Only fedex, UPs or DHL.
  8. The JBL 2400.1 is a huge beast ! At 6 Ohms, your subs will love it for sure. If you can find a JBL bpx series, get one.
  9. 0 Ga and 1/0 is the same ! 2/0 is bigger in size and maybe harder to work with. You don't need such big wires. Like they told you : 4 Ga is enough for your system. Forget about any HO alt, or secondary batt for now. You don't have enough power. (a secondary batt in the back can help , but it's not necessary if you listen to your system with engine on).
  10. It will be hard to find a sample unit to send to you. I will ask on some European Toyota Forums what kind of alt it is, and what replacement can I find. If I can find enough infos & pics I'll get back to you. Thank you. I will make an order for an alt for a VW Golf(rabbit) soon. got the money, but I need to know how you deliver, and the total costs(with shipping).
  11. Hi, I just saw you have some alts for Toyotas. I drive an Auris Diesel 2.0l, D4D, 126 hp. It's the "new" Corolla in Europe. What do I need to know to be sure an alt can fit in my car ? Like a 270 for example. I'm not a mechanic, and the alt is hidden under the engine. I can't see it !
  12. Get a good alarm, that can be very loud, with a remote to have the info "in live" !!! Flush mount your subs tight. they will be hard to take off.
  13. Run it at 3 Ohms and find an amp like the Alpine pdx 1000 or 1200, or even a RF(don't know which one). They make big power at 4 Ohms too. You don't need to run 1000 watts rms to this sub. 750 can be enough to sound good and be loud. (JL 750/1 HD something) Focus more on the box and maybe on your electrical to have enough juice !
  14. I love those kinds of terminals, or binding posts (I think it's called like that, uh ?). Look much cleaner than those cheap plastic terminals you find on all prefab boxes.
  15. should help. The bass can sound better without rear speakers screaming ! The stereo will be much better in the car. Get rid of those rear speakers. Sell them to make some cash !
  16. Where are the rims ? Black with a chrome lip. 18" or 19" ?!
  17. I think RAM knows what he's doing ! You both have very different opinions ! but I'd listen to RAM rather than an Asshole (what a name !!!!! lol). BTW do you know how much power is he running ?
  18. 1 batt or 2 big3 work on all the grounds can run 0 Ga wire if you want; just have to use a reducer before the amp for 4 Ga (T or Y splitter, don't know the right word). Will be better if you want to run a second amp later (for your mids & highs).
  19. What VC on the subs ? single 4 Ohms ? no, it must DVC4. So you want a 2000 w rms amp at 1 Ohm. DC2000, Crescendo2000, Audioque 2200,... are some good options. A 1500 w amp can be enough too. There seem to be more 1500's on the market. Sundown, Clarion, RF, and many more. Good luck !
  20. You find it better with sub & port up rather than sub up / port back ?
