  1. We got the first prototype in here to test and I LOVE IT !!! Cannot wait to get rolling with this project They should cost $130 MAP from an authorized dealer. * With Blackberry Z-10
  2. We tested up to 3 but that is a bit excessive -- 2.25 has worked great.
  3. See below for X series production parameters : ----- X-10 D2 : X-10 D4 : X-12 D2 : X-12 D4 : X-15 D2 : X-15 D4 : X-18 D2 : X-18 D4 :
  4. We don't have your order or any information about who ordered via the SSA stocking order. Any order that we received a drop-ship order from for 10/12/15s shipped out from us. If you have no tolerance for delay I would also agree that you shouldn't pre-order any more items. There is ALWAYS the possibility of delays on pre-orders; worst case have a back-up plan if you have shows to attend.
  5. Without more information on your order I cannot help you; e-mail [email protected] to check on it.
  6. SSA has their own stocking inventory to ship from; your order would ship from them directly.
  7. These are ETAs -- estimated time of arrival. They can vary a bit. X-18s first segment : THIS WEEK; should fill all the "individual" pre-orders X-18s second segment : 8/28/13 Z v.4 10s : Should already be shipped... we built all of these as none were made in production quantity. Z v.4 12s first segment : 8/12/13 (should fill all pre-orders) Z v.4 12s second segment : 8/28/13 Z v.4 15s : 8/28/13 Z v.4 18s : 8/28/13 ------ Other items that are sold out : SD-2 10" D4 : THIS WEEK SD-2 10" D2 : 8/12/13 SD-2 12" D4 : 8/12/13 SD-2 12" D2 : 9/5/13 SD-2 8" (D4 only) : October SA-8 v.2 D2 : 8/12/13 E8 v.3 D2 and D4 : October E-10 D2 and D4 v.2 : Within 7-10 days E-12 D2 and D4 v.2 : Within 7-10 days E-15 D2 and D4 v.2 : October to November Z v.3 Motors : 8/12/13 * We are still producing them. NeoPro v.2 (ALL sizes / 4 ohm and 8 ohm) : 8/8/13 ------ MOST of the X series are sold out at our warehouse as of now... once the dust clears I'll get more info on what we do have left. I started more production of these first week of June; so that should mean we'll have more early to mid September. In the mean-time WoofersEtc will have a good bit on hand of most if not all X series drivers; both customers and dealers will be able to order there. They also have many of the above listed out-of-stock items in their inventory as well -- and again, dealers and customers can order there as WoofersEtc is also a distributor.
  8. If your sub has 600-watts going to it you have 500+ watts of heat in the motor -- now... touch a single 100-watt incandescent bulb after 15 seconds. Should answer your question
  9. We started production on them all -- I am saying the ETA is by the end of October to be conservative.
  10. A warm dust cap is normal -- the cap pumps the air in and out of the motor gap. As loudspeakers are very inefficient most of the energy is turned into heat that must be dissipated.
  11. Your subs have a former cap -- so the hot air doesn't touch the dust cap.
  12. NeoPro-v.2 Info below. They will be in stock mid to late August. New power ratings : 6.5 - 180 RMS 8 - 200 10 - 300 * Included Grilles And mechanical drawings : http://www.sundownaudio.com/misc/protos/NeoPro_v2/NeoPro-10 V.2 mechanical drawing 20130716.pdf http://www.sundownaudio.com/misc/protos/NeoPro_v2/NeoPro-8 V.2 mechanical drawing 20130716.pdf http://www.sundownaudio.com/misc/protos/NeoPro_v2/NeoPro-6.5 V.2 mechanical drawing 20130716.pdf
  13. Unrelated. The wire supplier for the coil supplier took MUCH longer than they should have to get the flat wire made. As the woofers can't be made without coils we wound up with a significant delay. We are searching for other suppliers that can make the coils and the coil wire faster.
  14. I've mainly been updating on Facebook but we have been heavily involved in moving our location about 20 minutes down the road to Claremont, NC to a much larger facility for most of July. We now have functional shipping, testing, and build room areas at the new location plus a few office guys have transferred over as well. It has been a bit of a long process but it's coming along nicely. I have not yet moved my office or Debbie and the accounting / invoicing systems so it's been a bit inefficient as the data has to be transferred to the new location to ship (aside from Yard Sale) -- but the goal is to move all this by Monday and have everyone working in the same location by then. This should bring us back up to speed again. Also... at some point we will have to cut off the phones for a bit to move our phone number and phone system -- I will post up before we do that and update when the process is completed.
  15. We upgraded the surround and made the coil longer; so in turn the motor was deepened a bit to add the clearance we needed. Spider is also a bit more rugged as well. I don't think I ever put much up about them... but I will do so when they come in.
  16. It has come to our attention that 3 Kings Audio is selling Sundown Audio products. They are NOT authorized and products bought there will NOT carry our manufacturers warranty. All of our authorized online dealers are listed on our web-site. It is only possible for us to ensure the quality of products sold through authorized sources; do not trust an unauthorized source as you also cannot be sure of the authenticity / A-Stock quality of the product. Any dealer or distributor found to be supplying unauthorized online sources will be terminated. We would appreciate any information that anyone may have about the source of these unauthorized products.
  17. I think most people will be pleasantly surprised by how effortlessly these new platform drivers play the ultra-lows. I have tried to ring it home that they do play fine up higher -- they simply like to PEAK much lower due to the very low FS. I am developing a whole suite of 10/12/15/18" light weight (carbon fiber / fiberglass material) / smaller surround (the surround is about 80% of the mass of the piston) SPL cones for those that want to draw the peak upward -- the "smaller" surround is still good for ~40mm ; so it maintains about 70-80% of the excursion capacity. Oh yes -- and "stacking" poly-cotton spiders for the new platform frames in all the new sizes; they are the same material and roll type as our older NS v.1/v.2 spider packs but with beefier lead wires and more throw thanks to bigger OD. They offer the ability to more specifically dial in the FS and the material is more consistant in terms of FS over a broader range of temperatures (the packs vary a few Hz +/- as the bonding adhesive heats up). In any event... expect big things in both low-frequency and SPL applications from the new platforms -- we just concentrated on daily use on the stock models
  18. Song was BME click - Lil' Jon (Big pimpin version) & Throw it up (slowed down 35%).... These subs absolutely murder any frequency...even sound pretty darn good on the higher stuff...I am still a little gun shy on the low low stuff (below 20hz stuff) but I have no reason to be, the subs handle it like a champ...I am just used to typical subs not made for the low end (: Will make some vids today!! On a side note we actually broke part of the port inside the enclosure from the all thread (these subs are very destructive so brace accordingly), my poor hatch is begging for mercy...might be time to wall this thing... (; Sounds like they are doing what they are designed for in your setup -- glad to hear it ! Thats a great score as well.
