  1. Hmm... That's really strange. I've never had any issues with my OFC corroding. Maybe the jacket was slightly acidic or sealed in moisture or something?
  2. Someone who invented the most efficient Car Audio Amplifier in the world. Go look at the T-15K Sarcasm senses are tingling
  3. I don't expect a product to be loved by everyone, that is granted. But seriously: using it is common sense. And most basslines don't have an amplitude of -1db. That is such crap. It's more accurate than a DMM and cheaper/more portable than an o-scope. So it's fine in my book. Not sure why people hate it though
  4. Read it on a different forum
  5. I heard rumor of some smaller amps in the works. Welllll... Is that rumor true?
  6. No more torn surrounds from over excursion. Jesus

  8. Kind of want to try wiring to .125 ohms. Just so I can say "up yours" to all the half ohm newbies

Just roll into it and you night have a chance. If you hit it full tilt, you wont give the rise a chance to keep the amps on.

Wait a second, do your subs have dual .5 ohm coils?

  9. Is SMD really slow for anyone else right now?

I thought it was just the crappy computer I'm using. Yeah, it's a little glitchy and sluggish for me.

Ok just making sure it wasn't just me.

      Kyle.. What'd you break! :P

  10. That's quite a difference! Was the same length of wire used for both tests? I don't have audio on my comp at the moment, but it looks like there is more of the aluminum wire wrapped closer together - just wondering if that might skew the tests since it is more head concentrated in a smaller area? Still. 190 degrees. YIKES!
  11. Charge it, turn your lights on and drain it until it gets to ~11v, then charge it again. Do this 2 or 3 times, then charge it, then let the battery sit for a couple hours and see what it sits at
  12. 7v? How long has it been sitting for? Try a couple charge/drain cycles
  13. I have an IM-SG and it does wonders for extracting t/s specs. But the one thing it's missing is the BL. Is there any way of measuring or calculating that? And any ETA for the spreadsheet so I don't have to track down my calculator? haha
  14. Hmm... getting similar symptoms this morning as I did last night. WTF is going on?

Similar shit here before. It's related to my spinal issues. My c spine is jacked and I would get numbness and disoriented. Well, still do. Unless the numbness was in the face too. Be careful of that!

  17. Just remember: If you let the haters and the trolls bother you, you are giving them free room and board in your own head
  18. Steve, that is the life of a troll. They always do things like that just for the sake of getting attention or simply to get under your skin. And I think JP is to the point where he will shove other people under the bus for the sole point of promoting himself and his website. I know for a fact that myself and every other member here sees you for who you are - you are always doing giveaways and we have nothing but the highest respect for you. The trolls are going to try and tear you down just so someone isn't higher than them. They pick the lowest common denominator and celebrate that. I know that sometimes we all need to vent, but don't let them truly get under your skin
  19. Sweeeeet. Just measured/calculated my first t/s parameters! It's interesting how the actual values can vary quite a bit from the manufacturer provided values. Thanks D'Amore!

  20. You know those amps that you want a chance to play with SO BAD but that realistically you never will? :(

  21. Pretty sure low notes don't always use more power. You use the least amount of power at your tuning frequency because that is where the impedance is the highest. 28hz shouldn't be too bad tuned to 30hz. My voltage always dropped the most at 45hz when I was tuned to 34 because the impedance was the lowest. Aaaam I wrong? I'm probably wrong. With builds past I have noticed the worst voltage drop on the real low notes, but I can't claim I know how to explain it. I've always noticed it's dependent on box tuning. If I play a bit below tuning, or significantly above it: that's when I get my worst voltage drop
  22. What are you wired to? 1 ohm? Half? Check it with a DMM And where are you reading your voltage from? Alt? Battery? Amp? Somewhere else? Also what are the specs on your box? Have you checked the resistance of each coil individually? Check for an off-center coil while you are at it. Lightly push around the edges of the subwoofer cone - you should be able to feel the coil "rock" into the pole piece. The pressure needed to do so all the way around should be roughly the same. If one woofer does it more easily when you push on one side, that could cause it too. And the only other thing I can think of is a loading issue - they tend to become much more pronounced on low notes from my experience.
