  1. Ill have pics of one last firearm I paid for in about a week or so... Saiga AK variant in .223/5.56, hate the "sporter" look and feel they have to have in order to be imported, having a nice conversion done on it (922.r compliant) to make it look and feel the way it should. Might also have a nice dura coat job done on it as well.... Been thinkin about trying some 3 gun stuff too... Fun Fun Fun.
  2. Well with the nice weather back and a renewed interest in shooting, well not really renewed, just been shooting even more lately, I have kinda chilled on spending money on the car and decided to add a few new toys to the "armory". I Already own one of these, a basic carbine model, with a few tweaks.. was planning on buying a new stock for it and a bull barrel, but I was at my buddies shop the other day and he offered me a great deal on a brand new 10/22 Target model, I couldn't pass on it, so it found its way home with me. For now I picked up a Bushnell Banner 4x16x40 and some rings for it. its getting zero'd in tomorrow at our favorite shooting spot... going to bore sight it at 25, dial it in at 100, and then start playing around at 200yds. Barrel is damn stout. Hammer forged, .920 diameter, stainless. Beef. Also picked up a couple of pistols in the past few days as well, nothing to fancy just some guns to have fun with and the 1911 is what Ill be using in a local "race" series. nothing serious, more of a fun way to have a lil competition when shooting.. This is a Rock Island MAP1, which is the exact same gun as a Tanfoglio/EAA witness...or if you want, a CZ75 clone, in 9mm. Great feel to it, easy to shoot well and fast. Fun range toy with the 30rd mags I ordered. Got it "used" but it looked like it had never seen more then a couple mags at most... Runs like a top. Next up, Taurus PT1911... Now all you 1911 guys, this will really bunch your panties..it is also a 9mm. Dont hate... I have had 'em in .38super and .45acp too(still have).... I dont reload so the .38 super was pricey to shoot, the .45 is for killing people, and this one is for my race series, 9mm out of a full size 1911 is sooooooo easy to be accurate and fast with for me. Hardly any noticeable recoil and follow ups come oh-so quick. Already gave it a trigger job, and polished the rails up, and took a little out of the spring for the grip safety to soften it up more.. gun is tight, smooth, and damned accurate for its price. Already ran 400 thru it for "break in", only one FTE, on the 12 rd fired, nothing else after. Picked up a nice little Taurus ultra light .38SPL snubbie, Magnesium frame, this thing is stupid light, even loaded, it disappears nicely into a back pocket, considering getting an ankle holster for it... nice gun for me to carry now that its getting hot out, especially at work on days when Im only in the office and dont need anything more serious. Sorry for the crap pic... Forgot to take a close up of the Tomahawk, it's an SOG Fusion Tactical 'Hawk, always wanted to learn to throw one, saw it on sale and couldn't say no. Now I have one to learn to throw, man would it suck to catch one of these with your face.
  3. Here Joo go mang: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/134246-bigsixs-new-build-lincoln-town-car-sundown-zv2-3k-almost-ready-to-make-noise/page__fromsearch__1 Like I said been a while since I updated it, its missing pieces here and there.. never did the 15s in the fourth order... and I have a whole buncha pics I need to throw in it as to what has been in it and out of it in the past month and a half or so....
  4. Ill see if I can find it again.. I havent updated it in a long time so its probably 20 pages back by now and I have changed things around a few times, and changed my mind even more, so the log is way behind... I might as well just start a new one once I get moving on it again. Its a '99 Town Car, nothing special..250amp alt, couple runs of zero, Kinetic 2400, little bit of glass work on the doors, had SA 12's in it, then went to a Z series 18 on a DAT 2500.1, the DAT cooked itself, and I decided I wanted my trunk back, so Im in the midst of a minor tear down.. Ill be running one 12 on about 1500 watts once I get around to buying some more MDF and a new sub stage amp... Not an all out SPL ride, nor a true SQ build, just a kinda loud clean sounding daily driver.
  5. Cool. Then its test and tweak once I get it all in... Thanks for the advice.
  6. thanks for your input cableguy.. how much would you recommend over lapping the speakers? Keep in mind my speakers are most likely nowhere near as nice as what you are running... I have had my 8's playing down to 50hz with no issues... so Ill see how they like 40hz. What would you recommend as a good "base line" for setting all my crossovers at, with a decent overlap ? The doors are using a 3 way, Oxygen air 83 comp set... I might be looking at some different tweets tho, I want to see if going active makes me happy with their sound, at this point Im not sure if its the tweets, or the passive crossover that makes me not like their sound. I like my tweets to be on the bright side of things.
  7. I was under the impression the amp itself was capable of doing what I need for me to run active. From what I saw, at least 2 of the channels are band pass-able, 2 channels have 10x setting on the high pass, and 2 are intended for mid/sub bass... So I was figuring to run my tweets on 2 ch's, my 5.25 mids on the band-pass able channels, and my 8 inch mid basses on the remaining two. tweets crossed over around 3k hz, the mids from 250 to 3khs, and the 8s from 50/60 to 250 hz. Sound right or is this no bueno?
  8. Sincw no one had input on my post in the amp section, I put my big boy pants on and made a decision on my own.. gonna grab a Zapco AG650.6 tomorrow to run my doors

  9. So, ya...exactly that. Whatcha think about the Zapco AG650 6ch? Anyone have any experience with them? I have a 3 way comp set in my doors, and I want to ditch the crossovers and have been looking at my options.. was looking at running 2, possibly 3 amps to run my doors.. Then I came across this amp on my buddys shelf of stuff. Amp works fine, mechanically its a 10/10.. Cosmetically its like a 6. there are a fair amount of scratches on the case. He isn't ever going to use it, and said he'd sell it to me for ~250 bucks, that sound like a fair price? Would this be a good choice for running my doors active? I have never heard zapco amps in person, from what I can find on the 'net (which isnt a whole lot), this is supposed to be a nice quality piece. Thoughts?
  10. Bumping your thread everyday isnt gonna help numbnuts. Look in the "FOR SALE" section to see what guys have for sale. Pretty simple really.

RIA MAP1 MS, CZ 75 clone... 9mm ran a few mags through it right after taking possession, nice shooter.

  12. So.. just read a news story " Naked man shot to death while eating the face of another man"... Happened in Florida.. Drug indiced craze? Or is this the start of the Zombie apocalypse I have been so patiently waiting for?

  13. Same as above, great seller, quick to ship and items are exactly as described. Will definitely buy from Orion again. 7 thumbs up.
  14. Contemplating yet another idea for the Lincoln.. two 8's in the package tray, ported and firing into the cabin...hmmmm I can grab a pair of tang band 8s reallly cheap from my dude..

      Tuned in for that.

  15. Not to contradict your intelligence... But being as how i have been in some shootings... You should really think about making EVERY shot count... There are times where you may have to make your 1st shot count because that may be all you get... Just an FYI Smoke... thats exactly the kind of person Im not to worried about getting into a shootout with. Heaviest load isnt the best answer. Its the one you can hit with. You can have a damn bazooka for all I care... I know my shooting is on point.
  16. Do I sound retarded ( I hope not...lol)? One hanging on the back of my chair as I type. Its hot today and Im in the building all day... But I will admit I need to be better about keeping my plate in the front carrier. Sometimes its just to bulky and hot to to be bothered... Bounty hunting has always caught my eye. I have all the right "tools", I do lots of skip trace work, and have the "fearless" mentality because of my current line of work. Maybe Ill come down there and visit you someday and run a few with ya! Just something entertaining about fucking up some shit bags night. Not to mention its always fun to have a little scuffle.
  17. I work for a repossession company that specializes in fraud cases, straw purchases, and general troublesome cases that deal with people other companies dont want to go after. Ive taken Escalades from big time crack dealers, Helicopter from a suspected money laundering ring, Harleys from Hells Angels and Outlaws, and we get the work that other companies cant handle or say they sent some other company after whatever, and it turns out dude is violent and kicked that repo guys ass.. Thats when they call me, and I get it done. Its an interesting line of work... Im moved up the ladder and am more of a mangerial position now, but I still mount up and go after the ones that think they are bad asses and put them in their place. Ive been shot at, stabbed, jumped 6 on 1, hit with a bat.. you name it. But I always come back with my clients collateral.
  18. Depends. I have several different weapons I like to carry, all depends on where and what Im doing along with the time of year, as clothing being worn dictates how easy it is to conceal the piece you want to carry, its much easier to lug around a full size 1911 or a 4 inch .357 in fall/winter when larger, heavier clothes/ jackets are worn. If its hot out and not wearing more than shorts and a t-shirt, things like the keltec p3at or my ultra light 38 snub disappear into a pocket or small of back rig very easy. Ammo/ caliber selection, you can ask 100 differnt guys and get 100 different answers. I feel that as long as you are staying .380 and above, with proper "defense" style ammo, you can't really go wrong. I've never seen anyone laugh off a .380 double tap to center mass. Weapon selection, I like guns. A lot. Owned/have owned many many guns. Biggest factor in deciding what pieces are ones I will trust my life to, boils down to shooting them a lot, knowing which I am more proficient with, and which ones work all the time. I run any possible canidate for defense through a fair amount of "testing" before I decide its good enough to save my ass if I ever need it. I am talking several hundred (500ish) rounds of bulk to check operation of weapon, then if the gun passes my scrutiny there, its on the running varied amounts of different defense ammo through it and checking group sizes and function of weapon to see what makes the gun happiest and works best for me.by the time I decide a weapon is ok to carry, it has in the neighborhood of 800 to 1000 rounds through it. And if by that time the gun has worked flawlessly, with no major malfs and hasnt shot itself loose, it goes in the rotation for defense use. I am not brand/caliber/ style loyal. I carry what I like and what I know will go bang everytime I pull the trigger, because I have run the gun through its paces, and "broken" it in, and ran more rounds through it just to see if it passes my criteria, than some people that buy a "defense" gun will put through it in the entire time they carry it. If you feel safe and trust your gun after 1 box of cheapo ammo, and then just grab a box of hollow points to have ready, so be it. Just not for me. I carry a piece when I need to, not because I want to. I carry it because if I need it, it had better save my ass. I carry because things go bump in the night, and IM sure as shit going to throw lead, not be stuck tap-racking and trying to clear a malf. Sometimes in my line of work, I go take things back from criminals, dope boys, convicted felons.. Just need to make sure it'll be a fair fight if things get shitty.
  19. Not to be a dick, but you did give advice on something you dont know about. You suggested he use the remote wire to power the fans, not a good idea.. That statement indicates you dont know what you are talking about. Hence dont suggest it. Theres more to electricity than the voltage slick. Have to account for things like amps drawn, by what is being powered etc. etc..
  20. Uh...NO. Not what thats for. dont give advice if you dont know what you talkin 'bout Willis! Use the remote to trip a relay, to turn them on when amps come on, but not to directly power the fans. Thats no bueno. Power the fans from the battery bank he will have right there.
  21. For an HD gun, shoot it a lot, know it well and run a bunch of different HD loads thru it, selecting the one that works best, some brands my group great in your gun, others, not so much. Pick what works best for your specific application. Can get kind of expensive doing it this way, but youll get the best results, and once you know what your gun likes best, just keep a box or 10 on hand and use Winchester white box or another similar cheap ammo for practice and fun.
  22. Sounds fine to me... Just 'cause it says dual 2 ohm, the actual impedance can/ will be lower. My last d1 coiled sub read .7 brand new out of the box.
  23. Thats a lot of amp for a stock electrical system... more batteries are only a band aid as your alt wont be able to keep up with the draw and you will drain the extra batteries faster than you can recharge them.. so eventually after playing loud for a bit the voltage is gonna drop bad anyway.
  24. If you have to know and need a definitive answer, the only way to know for sure which will be louder in your application... buy and build both and let us know.
