  1. Forgot to upload these pics. Nothing to entertaining anyways. But to install all 4 amps I needed more RCAs and I didnt want to use more crap cheap ones or use some even cheaper mismatched ones like Im currently using. So I ordered 4 pairs of 3footers (still need more, a lot more). These came in last Wednesday, so now weather and ambition to work on my own vehicle permitting I can put 4 amps in "hopefully".

  4. This is a more recent video with 2 4500s in it, playing music. The video on youtube is a bit older and only 1 4500. video should be public, if not I will make it public https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=854102281290755&set=vb.100000729727081&type=3

  6. The only issues I see in charging full price are 2 things. One of them being that the majority of people wanting to rent the tools are going to be people that don't have the money to buy the tools themselves. I still say a PREAUTH for the tools cost is the way to go since no money is actually trading hands so you wont need to have $400.00 on hand to rent an AMM-1, but this will require you too have some form of credit or debit card. The preauth will only get authorized if the item is never returned or damaged. Second problem I see is after these tools get used and abused by several people if it actually does go well, there is no way a loaned tool (lets say the dd-1) that is used by even 5 people is worth retail price (of $150.00) if the user does not return it. Wear and tear brings down the value fast, even Steve sells gently used dd-1s for $99, and Ive seen other people sell them for as low as $80.00 already. As the user on the other page posted, with him having 12 DD-1s, 5 CC-1 and couldn't rent them out for the life of him and only charged $30 for the dd-1 for one week and $50 for the dd-1 and cc-1 for one week. If he couldn't make it work, I surely cant see this same method working any better if they have to fork out over 4 times that price to rent a DD-1 and cover the tools initial cost to rent it. Maybe his issue was not promoting it well, but I remember seeing him post it on a couple of forums as well as facebook. So I guess I dont know. I would love to rent a amm-1 just to see where Im at power wise and test before and after sticking in 2 more amps, but I sure don't have $400 to toss around for tool rental and shipping even if you get it back upon return. If I did, Id buy my own amm-1. However I can easily float $400.00 on any one of my credit cards as a preauth which is just as much of an incentive to return the tool. This is going to be the biggest issue for the majority of potential renters.
  7. on a positive side for the subs, the amps are being wired up, instead of staying nice and low like I want them, so Im going to loose a tad of power due to m y coil config currently. Im expecting to gain maybe a db if im lucky. Just know this from previous testing in the truck with these amps going from 1-2 amps in a old setup that had 1 amp wired low going to 2 amps wired higher. we shall see tho.
  8. Oh and somone said that they also use CapXon capacitors inside them like the aq/sq/dd amps do. They dont, same capacitors in the DC 5.0ks too. They are using SAMWHA capacitors, which from what I can find are Korean made and part of Nichicon according to Nichicons website
  9. While they are not the strongest amps out their in terms of power, they are heavily reliable, even at low impedance's daily on music. They will play at 9volts (actually lower when I loaned 2 to a friend for his burp crx), and all the way over 18volts. They are tanks and because of that its hard to upgrade to newer amps. Just because Im afraid of getting something that wont like what I wire mine too and go protect happy, or may let out the magic smoke. That was my main reason why I didnt go with NS-1s when I had a golden opportunity and a golden price, I wanted to see how others used and abused them and how they took that abuse. So I guess you have more balls on doing that than me LOL
  10. I think the wire in the car is cca, been using all ofc for amps and speaker wire, but Im out and used it all up

You are supposed to gain .01 when you go full tilt so I would say yes.

  12. You would have to make it more detailed than just damaged. If you get a tool back and the probes are shot, you cant charge the person the full price of the tool (at least I couldnt). Something like those would be considered wear and tear and be subject to failing just like multimeter leads, or the carpet in a rental property (unless it was brand new carpet just installed before the tenant moved in and now its full of stains, burns and animal piss). LOL
  13. Nope not at all! I borrowed my DD-1 to a guy on here from another state, but gave it to a old friend from right down the road to give to him at world finals, and he would give it back to my friend at the comp, and Id get it when he got back. I thought it was the guy on here that trashed it, but after talking to a few people at the show, and how my friend treated it, leaving it lay on the floor, out of the case, letting other people use it, I knew it wasnt the member here that did the damage. My friend was highly hesitant to give it back saying its buried in his trailer and would get it the next day which turned to the next day and so on. Finally got it back without my case, the CD had multiple show prints on it, scratches all over the disk, 1 prob was broke off the other prob had the wires insulation missing. I was pissed! Moral of story dont think a stranger will care about your items as much as you do, if your own friend cant have the same respect for your items..
  14. Yea. Totally agree. With as many scammers, and credit card theifs out there Id be hella careful especially with the higher priced tools. I see a pre-auth the only way to go about it besides a legal agreement as to also cover yourself.
  15. Sounds like a cool idea. Just be prepared for damage too occur either by the users carelessness or your "friend" that lied straight to your face or possibility of the tools not being returned. The only way I could see it being trusted is with some sort of a pre-auth on the persons credit card to make sure tool replacement money is there and available in case something bad happens. Not that they use a credit card with $200 limit which is enough to say pay the rental and shipping both ways, but then they dont ship it back, and you go to charge them and its declined. Im sure you got something figured out. now send me a amm-1 to rent for a couple days to measure my power.
  16. Pretty much the same scenario for me as well, I really don't compete much but still enjoy going to some of the larger shows to hang out and meet people and demo, maybe get in the lanes here and there. I have been curious on running capacitors for a while now along with my current 7 xs power batteries (soon to be 10) just to help level off the larger drops in voltage. Id like to get my hands on at least 1 bank to play with just to do my own comparisons with average and max voltage drop and spl numbers.
  17. YAY thanks for the pic!!!!
  18. Im curious on their cost, and if they are their own design, or a rebadged capacitor??
