  1. You can also open up command prompt and ping a site or a few sites and see if you have any lose of packets. Goto the start button. Type CMD in the search field and press enter. A black box will open up. Type " ping google.com " with no quotation. A few seconds later some numbers will pop up saying packets sent and received as well as your latency/ping in milliseconds.
  2. I did not say his router was the problem.... I said it could be his network card, and if its old and out dated, a new networking card with todays standard of 802.11N wireless wont be much of a gain since his new card with the newer faster and farther distance card will only run at the speeds of the out dated router..... As for routers, and cards in general, they seem to crap out from time to time (more so routers). Depending on brand of the router going into the admin panel of it and restoring things to factory default may help, and giving it a hard reset (many of routers will do that if you hold the reset button for 30seconds (depending on brand)). I am just speculating on what is said, since the gear being used was not mentioned. Google alone is not a decent way to test. Google is plan and loads much faster compared to a site with a lot of coding, and bandwidth being used from hundreds to thousands of user, let alone the server(s) google runs on is going to be a lot faster in every way compared to a personal website such as this, your talking about a multimillion dollar company compared to a car audio site. I know Steve is very picky about his site load times and issues, and if he runs out of bandwidth in his package he goes to the next up in line, but to spend the money that google spends I just dont see that happening. Your better bet would be going to www.speedtest.net and checking your internet speeds on a server close to your location and compare them to your ISP speeds that you pay for. However, again, an outdated or older router and network card is going to be a decrease in speed (especially if your speeds are limited in your routers admin panel for wifi), not to mention the farther your device is from your router the higher your latency/ping will be, and also slower speeds at greater distances. So for a accurate test, id almost suggust plugging a lan cable into your device and turning off your wifi card to test the wired network speeds, than unplug the lan cable and turn wifi back on and test again (with your laptop or whatever your using to be next to your router if it is not already).
  3. Motherboard is most likely fine if your just having internet issues, and your signal dropping. If it was a faulty mobo, more than likely you would be experiencing much more issues, and even if it was your mobo you can normally find replacement oem boards or aftermarket boards to replace it fairly cheap (dependent if your pc is a prebuilt like a dell, hp, compaq, etc or if its something you built). Also depending on your computer, and interface of your current networking card, if you buy a new one, Id strongly suggest buying a PCI Express x1 style card, versus the older PCI style (thats IF and only IF your motherboard has the PCI Express x1 slot). The older traditional PCI slots are being phased out of many computers now days and rare to see them on a lot of new mobo's. So if you do have the PCI Express x1 slot than your network card will work on your newer computer if you upgrade anytime, otherwise with the older PCI, you may get stuck buying a new card if you upgrade to fit the PCI Express x1 on the new mobo if you upgrade (unless you by a dated replacement mobo to fix yours IF its bad) which I doubt. Dont know how computer savoy you are at all so just wanted to explain it clearly and what not. To know what style(s) you have you just gotta open up your case, the PCI Express x1 slots is very short.
  4. linksys >> dlink>> netgear 802.11N is the faster mainstream speed widely available currently still iirc. But if your wireless router is older, even with a faster 802.11N wireless network card, you will only receive the speed and range of whatever your router is. Since most network cards are backwards compatible with the older router speeds, but useless to buy the newer faster tech if your router isnt going to support those said speeds. So maybe worth something to look into also.
  5. wait, you mean to tell me these mainstream brands that advertised made in usa are made in chian... no way sir you are so wrong!! LOLz Great pics anyhow Skar
  6. Nice save!! Did you mention to get the name of the shop he bought the woofer? I see you said he bought it from a retailer, which there are none of those online, so that retailer must of been a shop selling your product, but saying it cant handle its rated power??? Hard to believe not 1 but 2 shops could be so hack and have no idea how to even tune an amp or for that matter overlooked such a huge but simple issue.
  7. Here is the rest in a readable manor. No, according to what you say Ed, is no amplifier can not be 100% efficient and how you will have Loss and NEVER HAVE 100% EFFICIENCY . You said nothing about size. you go on to say once they add capacitors, and resistors they are no longer efficient and the engineers say it cant be done. The Rockford Fosgate T15k, proves what you said, mini or not mini amp. Your WRONG! As well as some of these other mini amplifiers on the market such as the Rockford Fosgate boosted rail amps are pretty far up there. Someone else mentioned the huge Phoenix Gold The one amp thats 90+ efficient They tiny SounDigital amplifiers with the clear plastic cases are 95% efficient. The kicker warhorse is 93% efficient at 4ohms, and 90% at 2ohms. Bottom line is just because the guys English is not the best, is no reason to say the video is wrong, and Im sure the amp is in the high 90% efficiency rating, and wont be long til more amps are since so many are already just a few percent away.
  8. Thought this was a pretty big shame when I logged onto my Facebook account tonight and seen this. For the most part, a bunch of nobody youtuber know it alls about the recent video SonicElectronix posted today regarding the New EarthQuake Mini amps. So Id thought Id share this here so maybe some of you guys could learn a thing instead of being taught wrong and looking a fool like Brad on Facebook which started this whole ordeal... Here is the video on YouTube SonicElectonix posted (some comments are on the video, but looks like SonicElectronix set comments to be approved first). Also try to remember the whole "battery voltage X Fuse amperage = Wattage at 100% efficiency" method does not always work. Its a guide to go by but not always correct or accurate. 9. I want to help. All I need is a new pair of shoes to walk to Cali, and a air mattress to sleep on hahahaha!
  10. 2 threads for the same question
  11. lmao... ok. Ive checked what I could, glad some of yous had a little fun too
  12. The new Psyph Morrison album is dope!! Order yours now!!! some serious heavy slappers on it!!

  13. This album is great! For the most part I'm geeking out when Steve called me up and he told me the news earlier tonight, and got to speak a lil with Psyph too. Ive listened to the entire album 2 times over and a bunch other songs a multiple more times. Ive had the song "All I gotta Do is Hit Her" for a couple weeks now I think. I was hooked on it since the Lexus LFA videos. I for sure thought that it be the single, or the best song on the album. Man I was totally wrong! Id have to say Track 6 "Say She Wanna" is the best song out of the entire album, with " All I gotta Do is Hit Her" in the number 2 spot. Of coarse this is just my judgement. From what I was told track 6 gets pretty nasty low, still haven't heard it yet on a system tho I soon will I think This is not like all those other CD's you end up buying, and while your listening to it your thinking in the back of your mind wow this cd sucks, and the only song decent is the one you it for to begin with. That is not the case here. The intro beat is pretty nice, but than following that track 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, and 14 are all really great songs, the other couple tracks I didn't mention are still great, but the tracks I listed are the ones that really jumped out at me and sucked me in!! From the stereo Ive been listening to it on in my living room and garage it seems to be full of raw hard slapping beats that bassheads all over like, backed by some serious flow. Psyph sure never let anyone done yet with his songs, and the same goes for this album. I think its safe to say that anyone else that picks this up will appreciate it just as much as I do, and for those that known me for a bit, Im not afraid to say what I think (good or bad), but this is one raw as cd, PERIOD!
  14. madness!!! and dude gets up like nothing happened! hah
  15. Honestly, pap should send you a new drop in at their cost, and package them better. The cones imo like i said are junk. I used the 4 up on some ghetto 12s, and 2 folded with little power giving. You cant attach a new cone unless you have ca glue remover, or grind all that glue off the former. But like I said, PAP should make good with a new drop in recone since only one is damaged, since imo dealing with other manufactures and never having anything arrive bad, nor did they insure it, so its 100% on them. any day of the week jacob can out do me, he has the materials and resources on hand. All I got is a bunch of glue to build recones, and normally wait for parts i order to arrive unless the person already has them. All I normally charge for is glue and wear on tools for recones, I do it just to help people out as a hobby, not to get rich.
  16. Jacob is definitely going to give you a much better product in his sleep than pap trying their asses off!!! if you where closer i could glue them up for you too, but I dont keep parts stocked on hand at all because thats just too costly.
  17. 400 for the pair? omg! I charge too little literately the cones alone are $8-11 each. Again, i dont know your use, maybe those cones are what you need for your particular install, but I know Id never use them again!
  18. I have never had a prebuilt reconed arrived damaged, Ive delt with sundown, fi, aa, psi, dd, dc several times and all items are usually packed very well, most use PVC thru the coils to avoid damage, that pvc is than glued to the top and bottom of the box, surround by loads of foam.. As for those cones, they are thin, resonate very bad at higher frequencies like a ting sound but a constant vibrating ting. And Ive had 1 set fold already in a prefab ported box powered by a mrp-1000 alpine amp rand @ 2 ohms to the pair of woofers. There is no structural anything to them, the wide ass roll surround is useless and acts as if they are 10s. Your by far better off with a pressed paper cone. Tho it sucks about what happened, good luck dealing with PAP, theres a reason why everything told is negative about them it seems.
  19. Those cones are straight up garbage!!! I used them before and never again, there is no strength to them... If they where packed correctly they wouldnt have been damaged either.
  20. ^^^^ That... Than you know where what volume to burp at, and what volume to daily play music with. Most competitors in strict SPL vehicles dont even use their maximum headunit volume, almost everyone I know that has a vehicle to burp tones, and tones only runs full gain on their amplifier(s), and there max headunit volume is volume 4 to 9. Edit: Or use tones that are -5db or whatever you tuned your amplifier(s) with.
  21. Very sexy, Wish I had serial 0004 on everything like my CC-1 Its my most liked tool out of the bunch that I have used so far. Cant wait to get my hands on that new toy!!
  22. Im wanting this just because it will run T/S parameters on the speakers I rebuild, a lot of which are different spider and coil setups so the Listed T/S are going to be way off.. Plus it be nice to test fresh never played woofers, and woofers that are loosened up a bit. This is on my I have a dream shopping list, along with a couple vu-dins, and a couple volt meters
  23. Yes, TechForce claimed that the DD-1 blew all his subwoofers but 1 or some crap He said he tested his headunit, and it was clip free all the way up in volume and full subwoofer volume.. He than tested the amps and set the gain, and the dd-1 told him to turn the gain all the way up on his amplifiers!! Keep in mind he brags about doing this for 20+ years, and admits to knowing the gain is not a volume knob and is to be matched to the headunits preout voltage... That being said, he never had the smarts or even that bad gut fealing that he should not be using his headunit at max volume with full gain and half bassboost... Pretty sure I screen shot this convo on facebook also!! But a fine example of user error... 20+year long installer, uses amps at full gain, and half bassboost because he has now sense otherwise.
