So very soon here, I will be starting a Wall build in my Taurus (By soon I mean On Saturday if the deal selling my N2's goes through)... I'll be running 4 VVX15's on (2) Planet Audio BB2400.1's (Realistically each amp only puts out about 2000wrms). I was wondering... Is a 150db @ 30hz an unrealistic goal? I want it to essentially be a low-end monster, but I still want it to be musical. Any recommendations what to tune it to without sacrificing too much SQ because of the low tuning?

Haha. I built my whole home theater sub with a jig. Edges looked rough, like yours... Sand it down and fiberglass/bondo the edges. Make sure that shit's solid and no air leaks. -
SD just released a new mini-beast....

Behringer EP2000 amp
WillPwn4Food replied to MTXThunder9500's topic in Pro Audio / Home Audio / Home Theatre
Take a picture of the rear of the subwoofer. If it has left/right speaker in AND out, you can run the front speaker out from the receiver to the subwoofer, then from the front speaker out on the sub to the front speakers. Another way is... RCA cables of some sort? Audio in iirc. There's some special shit you have to do, but I managed to make that work on my old one. -
First Computer build

I couldn't agree more with Maxim and Inm. Intel is by far the most reliable brand I've dealt with. Along with EVGA. MSI, OCZ, and Crucial have given me nothing but problems. The Feedback on most of that stuff speaks for itsself as well.... Honestly, the little bit of performance difference between them isn't worth the possibility of it blowing out sooner IMO. The SSDs OCZ 57% 5 eggs, 20% 1 egg Intel 78% 5 eggs, 7% 1 egg The graphics cards MSI 60% 5 eggs, 13% 1 egg EVGA 84% 5 eggs, 4% 1 egg -
Good Gaming Laptop choices
WillPwn4Food replied to iceman1575's topic in Computer Talk - News, technology, advice
One thing to remember with a 17" gaming laptop is that it's going to be heavy as fuck. It's more or less a mobile desktop. Alienware has the M14x. I got myself the M11x (11")(Already have a custom rig I built in my home that's top-of-the-line). I wanted a laptop that was easy to carry around for school, but wanted one that could play any video game I threw at it. Mind you, this is the basic one with 4GB RAM, 1GB Nvidia 335m graphics, and a duo-core 1.3 ghz (Overclocked to 1.75) laptop, and it could handle SC2... Barely. On low settings it ran it at 40FPS. dropped a bit on intense spots. It cost about 900 at the time? For $1600, you could make the M14x (14")godly. It weighs less than a 17", it's amazing quality (A bit pricey I will admit, but well worth it IMO.) and will keep you more than satisfied for a while. If you don't want Alienware, ASUS tends to have heat-flow issues pretty easy. Just a forewarning. Edit: Although if you are set on a bigger screen, they do offer the M17x (17")and M18x (18") And... Alienware has awesome color-lit keyboards. If I'm feeling blue... I make them blue... If I'm feeling gay... I make them pink. It's kind of fun having a color-of-the-day. Haha. -
I'm jelly. Still takes mine about a minute to start up. 15-20 seconds for my startup progams to start. Edit: Holy damn. That new SSD is going to be a HUGE performance booster.

time for a new computer. Help.
WillPwn4Food replied to bass28's topic in Computer Talk - News, technology, advice
ASUS or Toshiba are both pretty solid brands. Get something with at least an i3 or it won't last long when technology is changing as fast as it is. If you're going to have alot of pictures/music, you should get an external HD to fill up, to keep your computer running fast and fresh. -
I'm actually quite disappointed with your Windows score... Don't get me wrong, LOVE the computer. It's beast... But I feel like your score should be higher. My computer is nearly 2 years old, and had it not been for my HD being a simple 7200RPM, I'd have a 7.4... (The HD dropped overall to a 5.9) I'm only running the following... AMD Phenom II x4 3.0 (Overclocked to 4.0 on air cooler) 8GB DDR2 800 RAM (1) Radeon 4890 Black Edition See my confusion? I think the Windows Rating is a sham.

Help with a home audio setup
WillPwn4Food replied to Sid420's topic in Pro Audio / Home Audio / Home Theatre
This. Don't use Car audio for home audio unless you know what you're doing to make enclosures for the speakers/woofers. Klipsch and Polk are the best ways to go. I got myself a full Polk audio 5.2 for about a grand and it sounds absolutely astounding. Can make a 5.1 from Polk for as cheap as... 750 or so brand new. Klipsch sounds a bit better, but is also a bit more spendy, and has pretty bad customer service. If you just want some "Bump" for your room, you can build a 2.1 for as cheap as like...400-500. -
Got mine this morning. It's much more amazing than expected, to be honest. Much thicker and heavy duty. Normally I'd give a thumbs up for sending out hundreds of them, but I'm giving two thumbs up for taking the time to write "Alpha Damp" and "Damplifier Pro" on every single order LOL Definitely going to look into getting some on an upcoming build.

Or get the "Comfortably Numb" bass remix. Song has some seriously unexpected bass. Thing gives me a headache from hell.

Search for Decaf's thread. he has a HUGE mixtape compilation to download on here. My 15" loves most of the songs.

Level 4's daily
WillPwn4Food replied to WillPwn4Food's topic in DC Sound Lab - Big Bass on ANOTHER LEVEL!
Sheeeiiitt.... Now I gotta rethink things as I doubt a 3.5k would be enough for 4 level 4's. -
Am I retarded, is he, or is this in the wrong section?

WillPwn4Food replied to WillPwn4Food's topic in DC Sound Lab - Big Bass on ANOTHER LEVEL!
thats what a beauty panel is for.. you dont need to make the box super huge, can still make it optimum for the subwoofer/power you will be running... but personally i wouldnt wall 2 18s.. i have 2 18s walled *well, had.. just sold the 5s* and i would do 4 15s... Reasoning? -

Kinda feel like a small box will look odd when I'm wanting to wall the subs....
