Is there a way to tell if Hertz speakers are fake
lifted_silverado replied to Mr.JaunDurfle's topic in Mid's and highs
Dont pay nearly what they cost retail if its not a sure thing. Bid low hope to win and if theyre fake you get a cheap set of speakers for a cheap price if theyre real you get an expensive set for a good deal. No way to know without looking at the crossovers and equipment -
So i was working 6 hours over my normal 12 hour shift yesterday and happened to be outside on the back deck of our dredge when i start hearing alarms bells and look up to see this Our dredge is about 440 feet long, this thing was easily 200 feet longer and as you can see 80 feet higher. If you look on top of the big white wing in the second pic you can see two men looking down. This thing was less than 6 feet from hitting us! These were the only pics i could get before we had to man emergencie stations. Just thought i'd share my close call with you all

What Amp do I need to run 4 SA-8 v2's?
lifted_silverado replied to Cazz's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
What Kranny said. All quality amps and modest prices considering. I love my AQs -
This is what I was going to say. Thanks for saving me the typing lol Isn't there a Soundstream sub that can take like 10k rms burps even though I believe it's rated much lower? (Just read this on this forum a week ago) Wouldn't that be an example of a sub that would benefit from the cooling because mechanically is seems it can take the 10k rms? Sorry, I'm quite the noob. There would be a couple basic things to consider regarding mechanical power handling - There is the excursion limits of the driver, which can be controlled with the enclosure - Possibly a different set of spiders to better control the mechanical motion - The is the coil-cone joint - And there is the spider-coil joint Edit: Just brain storming out-loud here How about putting some sort of water proof stretchable cover along the bottom of the spiders, then encasing everything from the spiders to the bottom of the magnet in some sort of closed container Then have a nonconductive coolant sprayed directly onto the coil above and below the magnetic gap. Hook everything up in a closed loop system so there is no splatter/loss I believe thats how the bazookas worked. They had a hole through the bottom plate that ran up and through to the top plate around the coil. It never sprayed directly on just cooled the motor around it. The amps ran off of radiators built into the casingI used to have one of the bazookas way back when. It was more of a pain in the ass to hook up more than it was useful. All it does is introduce a new series of things to take up space and more potential to have something fail. Anti freeze running into your sub/amps/electrical isnt the best idea

I would find a good tech for major repairs. Im asking about things like a brake pads, im sure they dont sell pads at autozone haha. And oil changes, ive changed oil on some pain in the arse vehicles, is it something i'd have to take to a tech or is that something that could be done in my garage by me?

Im looking at purchasing a porsche cayenne turbo from a dealer at home. Nice vehicle good price, my question to those of you who drive/own high end euro cars is about maintenence. Do i really have to take it to specific euro vehicle mechanic shops for any repairs/maintenence? I was wondering if Mr. Meade has to take his lexus to certain shops or if doing the normal maintenence and repairs are do-able by myself? Any help would be appreciated.

Kids these days..
lifted_silverado replied to nautical7's topic in Off Topic - Random, Misc posts - the forum "Junk Drawer"
When i was growin up, i had my ass whipped on a regular basis. I learned my lesson from it to. When we were kids in school we didnt do shit like this. We would give a hard time or something innocent, if someone crossed a line the rest of us put him/her in check real quick. We've given the generation of kids today too much slack and too little responsibilty for themselves. If i had a nintendo 64 and i fucked up, it was gone either til i got my shit straight or it was permanantly taken. Now kids have all this shit given to them and have no consequences. Now not only can they make you feel like shit in front of a bunch of people but someone with an Iphone can post it on youtube 20 secs after it happened. I plan to raise my children better when i have them. I didnt have a cell phone til i bought one myself. If theres an emergency when i was growin up i was either in a controlled environment like school, a friends house with responsible adults or somewhere with a phone for emergency use. Im embarassed to be a part of todays society in alot of ways i guess you could say. If i were the parent of one of these kids, i'd take a long look in the mirror before i decided to beat the skin off their ass. -
Easy outs. I had the exact problem with my 06 suzuki z400 bumper. Bought these things from home depot, has a drill bit side you drill through the bolt with and then flip the bit over, stick the end inside your pilot hole and reverse out. It bites in and backs out the bolt. As far as the leak if its an E-brake block off plate theres no fluid behind it, unless the pin is broken or the seal busted somewhere. In wich case its probably going to be a pain the a$s
