  1. Overbuild the shit out of it...and get help. Building a wall by yourself isn't very easy. Be patient and don't cut corners. Use titebond II or similar glue. Have a plan how you want to build it. I sat for hours trying to figure out how to piece mine together. Hopefully my mistakes help you out.
  2. Where do you have the remote wire attached to? Do your amps kick off too? Those power connections at the back are lamesauce.
  3. I think they are unity horns but they are the biggest ones I've ever seen. Here is a link of a scaled down version http://www.cowanaudio.com/unity.html
  4. I saw these over at AK and knew you guys had to see them. This is supposed to be some kind of experimental jbl setup. I'm looking for more info. Here is a couple crazy horn setups... and I saved the best for last. Wait for it.... Wait for it.... BAM!!!! What you know about that? lulz.
  5. Here are a couple cheaper tweeters. http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=264-1024 http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=275-070 (had 4 of these in my last build. Great vocals) There are other options like using a group of 4 3" fullrange speakers in each of the A pillars. Take a look at these. http://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/approx-3-fullrange/fountek-fe85-3-aluminum-cone-full-range/ http://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/approx-2-fullrange/peerless-tc6fd00-04-2-full-range-paper-cone-4-ohm/ http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=299-113
  6. Great build. You are a fiberglassing juggernaut. lol Start a build log over here.
  7. I took everything out and then put the 10" back in the doors and hooked them up to a pair of passive x-overs and have them running with a pair of tweeters. Not ideal to be sure but I would go crazy without music. Hopefully Santa brings me some ID horns and I can get those tweeters outta there.
  8. +1 love my clarion eq . Matches my vz409 perfectly. Another good eq would be the kicker 30 band. You can use it in stereo or mono. I plan on getting two for my system. It would be hard to find one cheaper unless you got lucky on ebay. I say the more DSP the better. As long as you know how to use it.
  9. A couple different choices. Chemical brothers "Setting Sun" Massive attack "Karmacoma" "Splitting the Atom"
  10. x2 I ran under a thousand watts and had the big 3 done. It will make a difference. If you want to upgrade all the groundwork is done. No ripping out panels to replace small wire. Overbuild if budget and time allow. It will save you time later.
  11. It's a good eq. I have one in my setup too. It matches my VZ409 perfect. I set it once and left it though. The audio input is a few db down from my ipod though. Had the phone hooked up to it so that could be why.
  12. Making a tiger costume out of used cereal packets. Building a Rail gun in my basement. Converting my malibu to run on tanning oil. Serious crazy is a anti ”monkey coffin”, baffleless, three way system. Going to start building one next year with cheap drivers for fun. High Qts drivers ftw. Haha
  13. Don't get the wrong idea. I'm not pissy about it. I just wanted to see a video. The look on peoples faces are priceless.
  14. Giving demos of my finished wall. Finishing my wall lol 25+hrs work and $150 and it's done Greens in the morning College. More fun now than it was in my twenties.
  15. Cone area is win. This time last year I had a single 12" type E on 360 watts. Then to two 18's in an infinite baffle on 240watts which was louder.lol Now to a wall for 3 18" (math ain't working for 4). I run 10" midbass in the doors... For me lots o' cone is the only way to go.
  16. A subwoofer wall that does my soungarden, massive attack, prodigy, and bjork without skippin a beat... Partsexpress demo car. lol I guess I'm part of the raw driver fanclub of car audio
  17. My brother has a 96' and he's about to buy a 92 VR4. He loves em. He hasn't had any real problems with it at all.
  18. X2. I even went as far to go to their website to design one for myself. A guy can dream. Lol
  19. You're right bro. They gave it up after 76' I had to check to make sure I knew myself. My mistake.
  20. Basic is basic. The fun starts when you start learning your mos or goto tech school. Not sure what they call it in the Army I was AF 95-99. Flight mechanic/ propulsion. Glorified way of saying jet engine mechanic. If you can when you get to your pds (permanent duty station) try to get on a maintenance recovery team. That way you can travel and fix broke aircraft all over. You never mentioned whether it was fighters, bombers, or heavies you're going to be working on. Do you know yet? Like alot of people said it took a while to realize how much fun I actually had. It is a blast and a great experience. I wouldn't trade it for anything.
  21. I have a budget of $250 a month. It makes me insane. I spend hours researching equipment, build techniques, install methods. Buying one piece of equipment at a time. Passion for music and car audio is what keeps me on track. I hope to finish mine by christmas.
