Yeah I figure it will be a bit of a trip but I can't go to Cali and not make it a point to at least attempt to visit his shop. Damn no one likes Oakland lol I am starting to wonder why in the hell we have a firm there if the city is that rough but I do what to visit quite a few places I have to check out Mr. Meade's shop if possible and I am sure SF will be where we go to do stuff and if San Jose is that close we may head that way. How's the food I want to eat at some good spots preferably small mom and pop places that are local.

Anyone know of Cafe Sport? Any good?

Not really into the whole tourist spot thing just looking for the fun places to go and have a good time. Maybe some local restaurants with bomb ass food (I Love to Eat). I appreciate the advice though, I didn't grow up in the best of neighborhoods so I can sense where I don't need to be for too long. How is the Oakland subway system I believe we will be using that for some time. Thanks for the spots and the pictures and I like clam chowder so I will be sure to make it a point to have a bowl from there. Any other spots with really good food? That's not a bad idea... I am not sure if we will be given a vehicle as of now all I know is the house they are renting for us to stay in is suppose to be near the Oakland subway system and believe me I have been giddy about the fact that I can check out Steve's shop but I don't think a demo will be possible because I think he is rebuilding the tahoe right now but if it is ready I will definitely try and get a demo I need to secure this rental car situation first and convince my company to pony up for it lol. Wait I'm confused if I am not mistaken alts don't put out their max at idle you usually have to rev past a certain point with any alt to get max amps out of it. Every alt has a minimum idle amperage and the max it will do after a certain rpm. Mind you that ebay alt probably isn't doing no where near 220 at any rpm.

So I will be in Oakland on the 26th and I will be there for 2 and 1/2 weeks, my company is opening a new site there and consolidating our LA office. Anyone from the area? What is there to do? Anything I need to know, this would be my first time on the West Coast and I am a little excited to be going. I will also be in Vegas from May 8 - 15th for the AccessData Conference excited about that as well. So Oakland locals tell me what up.

The Hifonics BRZ or AudioPipe AP/AQX amps are good budget amps when you need close to rated power on a budget.

I run FLI amps and for the money my F1 amps are amazing I have not tried out their new F2 amps so I can't vouch for the quality now. My 100 x 4 amps have 60 amps in fuses but the new 4 channel amps only have 30 amps in fuses so I was a little reluctant in buying the newer ones. I would stay away from bidding on amps if your cap is $100 and the best of the amps Beem showed you would be the MBquart IMHO but like I said I have FLI amps and I love them I need to make a vid of them playing but I haven't had free time or a quiet spot that wont annoy neighbors to show what these lil bastards can do. IH8PunkRok Ninja'd me but the Soundstorm would be a good budget amp I had one a while back it got a little hot but with the right ventilation it did the job for someone on a budget. I am kind of surprised Watch The Bass didn't suggest it he usually suggests Audiopipe as the bang for your buck budget brand lol.

at Blackedout's comment in High School I didn't know what a budget was had the system that moved air and I stayed clean but I also had a job at Publix and Express since 10th grade then I graduated and when I got to college I don't know it just seemed harder to do anything extra without hurting later even though I was working 2 jobs still but good start to your build nice equipment for a starter system.

Applelossless format and turn all eq settings off on phone or iPod is the best way I have heard of doing it. I did it with mine since the cd drive on my players eats cd's. Worked out great.
