Really the best places to complete the circuit are positive from battery to alternator stud, and negative from battery to alternator casing/mounting holes or engine block. The chassis or frame are still grounding to alternator Edit: so to answer your question, to battery positive from alt yes, to battery negative from alt yes(if possible), amp positive and negative straight to battery(if possible) and you can always add a ground from battery negative to frame/chassis

Loudest would be making the box to peak at car's natural resonance but most likely wouldn't be a very musical box I'd guess around 38 if you want just loud, keep it where it's at if you dig teh lows

Lmao, genius good sir

Building your own is always a good experience even if it doesn't come out right. And if you read the single review....lol Edit: I would guess they use that same generic picture for every one of their boxes and that one happens to be the sealed version?

How to bypass electric power management .
Loslam replied to ToddB's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Might be possible to get a PCM tune and set the voltage different and gains some hps at the same time, not 100% on that though -
Interesting

I ordered D2, says it on the receipt online and says it on the packing slip you see. I got both D1s and I opened one and checked with a DMM and yep D1s Guess I gotta get a hold of SQ lol -

battery not charging right?
Loslam replied to soundstream15's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
If it stayed in 12s and lower I'd say it wasn't wired up. But you said it is 13v sometimes and used to be 14v. Sounds like your alternator is going bad/funky or either you're losing a lot of voltage through wires to the back Recheck everything. Make sure harness is plugged into alternator firmly, make sure all wires are tight -
Here's some cool info http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/122171-measuring-power-by-clamping/

That would improve your battery bank, but you can only go so long drawing more than what you can produce. Also causes more stress on alternator if it's at full output all the time trying to keep up = shorter alt life

If you have room under the hood get another alt before batteries imo Edit: ^ in regards to your electrical question post
-
It's most likely your alternator and I'm going to guess you have a small car. The alt doesn't make full power at lower rpms

will my stock alt keep up
Loslam replied to trpkkd's topic in Electrical-battery- Alternators- Wiring
Then yeah I'd agree with others. Big 3 and add another battery. Just watch voltage if playing full tilt for a while -

What kind of car? These newer cars have some decent alternators from factory. -
Who here can hit the low note?

I could hit the 25 hz version of this song no problem at all with the AQs, one of which you bought and will have shortly -
Norcalbigbeto209 can you change the title to Loslam? Or mods. Thanks
